OT: do you wear full makeup or minimal

I guess it all depends on individual but I actually like wearing full makeup. This started few years ago because before that I would just brush some powder on, wear eyeliner and lipstick. It was this way for years. then, my DH actually said"how come you don't wear eyeshadow and blush?". He created a monster because ever since I really like to wear it, change colors, use different eye designs, etc. I don't really know any women who do that and a lot of times I have been complimented and asked if I work at makeup counter! I guess its not the norm. But I am so used to it now that I don't even think its a big deal. FYI, its not because I feel insecure with less makeup or think I don't look good. I just like it. The times I didn't, it was because I was short on time.
Do you wear a lot or a little?

I usually wear a lot for workdays. I counted my "steps" one morning at came out to 17, I think. Sunscreen, primer, tinted moisturizer, highlighter, blush, powder, brush eyebrows, curl lashes, eye primer, eye liner, 2 shadows, mascara, lip balm, lip liner, lipstick. I also like to change my blush, lipstick, eye shadow, eyeliner colors from day to day. I've gone through stages when I didn't wear any makeup at all and certainly am comfortable bare faced on weekends and casual Fridays. I just think it's fun and finishes a more dressed up look.

I wear full makeup every day...tinted moisturizer, blush, eyebrow powder, shadow, liner, mascara, lipstick. And I mean ev-er-y day. If I don't have my makeup on it's because I'm at death's door. And I don't say that proudly - it is a bit burdensome, and I have tried to cut back, but I just don't think I look like myself without it. On the rare occassions I have gone without, I do feel self-concious and insecure...not a good thing. I usually enjoy the process of putting it on though. It's my "get my head together for the day" time.

I wear lipstick. Eyeliner if I remember. That's it. I could probably stand to wear more as I age, but I'm just too lazy.

As I've gotten a little older, I wear some sheer tinted moisturizer (with SPF), powder (because I still have really oily skin), and maybe some eyeliner and mascara. I put on the longer-lasting lip colour in a natural shade and then just gloss over it. I've never been big into eyeshadow or highlighter or contouring or blush. I mostly want to look natural, but have my skin look a little more even and have my features pop a little more than they naturally do.

I wear foundation, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, and lipstick every time I leave the house (unless I'm only going to the gym). I definitely look like I am wearing makeup, and that's okay with me. The whole procedure takes only about 5 minutes.

I apply mosturizer, skin corrector for dark undereyes, powder foundation (I don't know if it's a foundation, it's really soft, doesn't stay very long and doesn't cover much, but it gives me a pinch of healthy color) and mascara, if I am wearing contacts. I don't do eye-liner because I'm allergic (I'm buying an hipoalergenic one one of these days) and no lipstick, since my lips are too noticeable per-se. Sometimes I'll wear gloss...

I'm minimal. Tinted moisturizer, powder (mainly in summer because I'm a little oily/shiny), quick sweep of blush, nude lip pencil, lipstick or gloss, mascara, and often a quick smudge of eye liner pencil and a little shadow. On the most casual days I leave off the liner and eye shadow. For special occasions, I step up the eye makeup to include a highlighter shade. Takes me maybe 3-5 minutes.

I even wore the bare minimum of tinted moisturizer, lip gloss and mascara while at sea in the Arctic, dressing in gear. Mostly because I wanted the SPF of the moisturizer, and while I'm at it, it's quick enough to do lips and lashes.

I am minimal. Tinted moisturizer and ruby-black mascara intended for green eyes. Dots of concealer on red marks (but my sample tube is going on 4 years old, so I obviously don't use much of it). If I'm 'going out' like dinner on our vacation in South Beach, or the upcoming concert, I'll add some eyeliner, blush, and powder mineral foundation, maybe lipgloss.
I find a lot of face makeup in the heat and humidity very uncomfortable. I am sensitive, though, and it actually makes me itch and break into perioral acne. You live in Hawaii, right? I don't know how you do it!

Most work days/ nights out I wear a sweep of mineral powder foundation to even out my skin, mascara, blush/ bronzer, clear mascara to fix eyebrows and lip balm, I sometimes add eyeshadow and lipstick. If I'm in a rush just mascara. Non work days I'm quite happy to go out au naturel with just sunscreen on x

I think I'm a minimalist when it comes to makeup. I wear, on a daily basis:

eyeliner

Most of the time I wear absolutely nothing. If I do wear something I use mascara and/or lipstick and that's it. I have problematic skin and I learned that the best I could do was to leave all the irritating stuff away. Sometimes it looks good and sometimes not, but it only gets worse when I try to do something about it with products.

I'm minimal most of the time. I feel like it's not worth it to wear it in the lab where very few see me and never in the field. If I know I'll be giving a presentation or doing something nice, then I'll bring it with me and put it on beforehand.

I'm like MaryK - foundation, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara and lipbalm/lipstick/gloss.

Thing is - I'm using less makeup as I get older and I'm also choosing things are are a lot less fussy or flashy. I used to like to try on different eyeshadow colours and so on, but these days - it's all very neutral. I also find myself sticking to just lip balm and/or choosing a nude/neutral lipstick colour most of the time. Don't get me wrong, I still love my red lipstick, but I save it for a night out.

Meanwhile, I just threw out a bunch of makeup stuff ( a mini closet clearout/edit) - and got rid of a bunch of stuff I'm just not wearing these days.

I wouldn't say "minimal" just yet - but things are changing...

I am finding that less is more these days.

OK, I guess I missed this thread when it started. I used to wear very minimal makeup but have found that the older I get the better I look with it on. My biggest problem was learning the new formulations (since the 60's/70's) when I used to wear it more. I found Lisa Eldridge, actually my girls found her, and I have learned so much, http://www.lisaeldridge.com/video/. That led me to find YLF. In the past 8 months, my look has definitely changed.

Like MaryK and VC, I wear quite a bit if I'm going anywhere other than to the gym.

I've worn foundation since I was a teen to cover my not-so-great skin, and mascara.

After I joined the working professional world I added eye liner (to top and bottom lashes - this makes the biggest difference on me because my lashes are sparse), blush and lipstick. I rarely wear eyeshadow unless it's date night or the opera and I'll do a smokey eye. Occasionally I swipe on some nude sparkly shadow but my eyes are deep set and so it's not very noticeable on me and I usually don't bother.

OTOH, I love to play with lipstick colors and have quite a few! It's a fun pick me up to buy new lipstick colors.

I'm minimal - BB Cream, cheek stain & lippy. If I go all out on a work day I might add mascara & eyeliner. In the weekends naked face unless I'm going out in public in which case same routine as week days except I replace lippy with lip gloss.

I am beyond minimal. I usually wear only a bit of eyeliner, blush and try to put on lipstick before I leave the house but rarely remember to re-apply. I used to wear mascara every day but stopped when I had eczema and now only put it on when I am going out in the evening. Then I put on a bit of eyeshadow too.
