So sorry you and hubby are going through such a scare. Sending you the best thoughts and wishes I can and hope to hear soon that he is on the mend and doing well.

Sending love and support!
How terrifying for you. Hang in there.

Nancylee, I'm so sorry you and hubby are having to go through such a scary, painful time. My thoughts are with you. I know this is a terrifying and worrying time, and you will be busy and exhausted; but don't forget (or neglect) to take care of yourself too.

So happy that you feel you can talk about it on this forum and ask for support here; I hope you do the same with your real-life friends and family too, because I'm guessing right about now, a little support with the physical logistics of your life would be a great gift.

Wishing your husband a speedy and straightforward recovery here on out; and wish you peaceful nights free from worry, help and support whenever and wherever you need it, and a tankful of hope and strength in the mean time.

I'm so sorry you have having some a rough time! I'm glad to hear that he is doing better and hope that continues :=) Hugs! xoxo

Big HUGS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Update: My husband moved out of intensive care this afternoon and is feeling a little better every day. The short-term dialysis supported his kidneys long enough to get them working on their own, and now his kidney function is back to normal! *Whew*

He did suffer some significant (hopefully short-term) nerve damage to his legs due to the fluid pressure, so it might be some time before he is standing and walking on his own......but the doctors are confident his legs will revive in time.

This has been quite an ordeal...but we have survived and are now, thankfully, out of the woods. You sure don't know how strong you can be until you are tested.....I'm feeling very strong! Knowing so many people are thinking of us is a huge help.

Thank you all again for your love and support.

Oh, thanks for posting an update, Nancylee! I've been thinking about your family. I am so glad things are on the upswing!

Oh, my goodness! So glad he's out of the woods! Sending more love and support for a speedy and uneventful full recovery!! {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

SO glad he is on the mend, Nancylee. Wow, you have been through a lot this weekend! Sending warm wishes for a quick and comfortable recovery.

Nancylee, how scary--so sorry your husband has had these setbacks but hope he will continue to heal and that it will be smoother sailing from now on! Big hugs!

This is good news Nancy - it truly is one day at a time. Hold tight to each other.

Nancy,
I am so glad to hear that your husband is getting better and that his kidneys are working on their own now. My hubby and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers while your husband now works through the nerve damage problem which pray God is only temporary.

That's wonderful news! Thanks so much for posting the update.

Nancy, thanks for the update. I am so happy your husband is feeling better - I wish him a speedy recovery!

I'm very glad to read that your husband is out of intensive care and on the mend - and I wanted to let you know you're in my thoughts. Sending best wishes for speedy healing with extra oomph toward the nerve issue clearing right up.

Whew - hang in there - this sounds like a very tough time.

I know it's hard, but don't forget to give yourself some extra TLC. Some care and attention for *you* will go a long way in terms of helping you get through this stressful time and shore up even more strength to help you 'be there' for your DH's recovery. While it might seem a bit silly, I think it's important to give yourself a bit of a break, especially right about now, just before your husband comes home from hospital - if that means goofy magazines, a good novel, or some nice treats at home (ie. berries, really good tea, a pampering facial mask or whatever makes you feel extra cared-for), then now is the time.

Take care, and don't forget to extend some of that love and care toward you.

Nancy, How scary this whole thing must have been!
I'm so glad to hear that he's doing better!
Wishing a rapid and full recovery to your husband, and to you continued strength to help him get through this ordeal.
Thanks so much for the update!

Thank you so much for taking the time to update. I am so incredibly happy that he is better and that his kidneys are functioning. Modern medicine is amazing. So is the human spirit and the human body.

GREAT news! Thanks for letting us know! Hopefully it's all better from now on; you;ve been through enough!!!!
