OT: Christmas Loot?

Yes, this is incredibly consumerist/not in the season spirit, but, anyone want to share their Christmas goodies??

I only receive a few gifts each year, and fortunately, most of my gifts were kind of YLF related this year!!

* gift vouchers and cash from my Nan with a note to buy myself some new underwear (how did she know I needed another bra!!)
* the Mascara I tried and loved from my brother and his girlfriend - the Blinc Tube stuff!!
* Wii Fit - YLF related as it will help me keep me fit and healthy - and its actually really fun!
* and my favourite.... a beautiful little Tea Set - it has a saucer, cup, strainer and a little lid - so I can keep my tea warm if I don't get to it straight away, and a little matching spoon!! I am dying to have my morning cup of tea tomorrow now

BF got me a netbook, long black cardi and a chocolate fund money box.
I also got from others 2 scarves, 2 pairs of gloves a fur trapper hat, nail polish, a bracelet, various smellies and sweets x

My husband did an amazing job this year. I received a beautiful new suit for work, two stylish tops, a fantastic cardi, and ponte knit jacket that is going to work for both work and play.

But the best was the new stand mixer that he gifted me with -- now I can create pies, cookies, cakes, and homemade bread!! My husanbad wrapped up a flour sifter in a box and gave it to me. When I unwrapped it, I was clueless as to what it meant. Then he gave packages of baking powder and vanilla flavoring..... then it clicked. I was dancing around the living room like a little kid.

In addition to the boots that I bought for myself, my husband surprised me with a Garmin GPS. Okay, I actually ran across the receipt 3 days ago when I was looking for something else but I still thought it was a really sweet and thoughtful gift. Now, where ever I am, I will be able to locate the nearest mall

I had asked my mom for the long pearls and Nordstrom and she gave me a set from Chico's instead. She said that she looked at the ones at Nordstrom but wasn't all that impressed. These that she gave me are a bit bigger of a pearl, but very nice.

The siblling adults do a themed gift exchange every year... and we draw numbers and choose a wrapped gift from the pile or steal one that someone has already opened... it's probably the most fun part of our day. This year we were to bring a gift that began with the first letter of our name. I received the "S" gift of slippers, a scarf and a bottle of Shiraz.

Well, I 'received' a sweater and cropped tux jacket from my BF that I had shopped for and wrapped up, so no big surprise there But he got me a ps3 Move and I can't wait to go pick it up and start playing it! Might even brave boxing day crowds I want it so bad. Sadly, the sweater I got him has to go back, so his replacement choice will come later next week.

- Some very nice lingerie that my husband chose (he's got good taste),
- A fragrance I've been coveting for a long time,
- XX-Hi Converse shoes (WIW to follow!)
- Munchkin (a card game that's a whole lot of fun).

These were all from my very generous husband - I don't really exchange gifts with anyone but him.

Usually, I shop for my own holiday gifts, but money is tight so this year we all got one big gift of season passes to an amusement park. I got the kids a few things for their stockings, but I didn't get anything else for dh or I. He completely surprised me by filling my stocking with a day at home spa- candles, bath salts, oils and fizzes- and two vouchers. One for a day at home alone (to use my spa equipment), and one for him to take a weekday off and go to the amusement park with us. I thought that was pretty thoughtful

My hubby bought me two fabulous pair of ankle boots. The coffee colored ones with the zipper trim have already been out to play -- LOVE them! The gray ones are still in transit but look like they are going to be fab!

My mom sent me a check, which I used to buy some tan Jessica Simpson pumps to try and approximate the fab tan pumps from the French "look book" site some of us have been drooling over. The color is not exactly the same, but I think these will be real wardrobe workhorses nevertheless.

It was a very shoetastic Christmas!

My family is small, but my relatives are very thoughtful at selecting the right gifts for each other, particularly my immediate family. Since my birthday and Christmas are a week apart, I'm feeling incredibly spoiled at this point.

I'm really thrilled and surprised about:
* From my boyfriend, an electronic picture frame pre-loaded with sweet or hilarious photos of us together for the past 3 years - we just passed the 3 year mark of our first date a couple weeks ago.
* An ASUS Eee PC netbook that I was pondering purchasing for myself for a while
* A pretty peacock patterned porcelain tea set that sounds very much like the one Theresa got
* A pretty top I'd had my eye on that is no longer available, and a patterned LOFT cardigan that I hadn't seen before, but absolutely love
* The white Fossil watch that I've had my eye on for years
* A lovely, small wooden jewelry armoire from my boyfriend's parents - apparently he spilled the beans on my habit of leaving jewelry in piles on my hall table!
* An awesome starter set from Teavana, including a Perfect TeaMaker and several different jars of tea
I'm seriously feeling spoiled rotten!

I surprised my mom with clothes, too - patterned paisley flannel pajamas and a gray houndstooth knit pencil skirt that fortunately fit her PERFECTLY.
Among other things, we gave my dad a remote controlled helicopter, and he was having a blast playing with it yesterday!

Maya, where did your family find the famous ATL faux-fur vest? Wow!

Kim, I love the idea of themed gifts starting with the same letter - what a fun idea for a gift exchange!

MaryK, LOVE your new shoe collection and can't wait to see them in action!

Hubby got me some nice thoughtful things. He got me a gift card to go pick up my jacket from the Running Room. I need it for running at night, it's all reflective, and waterproof and such.

He also got me a foot-spa! Since I've been running my feet are taking a beating and this will be a way to treat them nice and hope they are nice back to me! LOL

Stuffed my stocking with plenty of chocolate!

From others I mainly got gift cards and we'll all go shopping this week. (I love a good bargain! )

Merry Christmas to everyone too! I've loved reading all the posts so far - people are so incredibly thoughtful!

I have the best little family and they have spoilt me rotten with love and thoughtful gifts - I am so incredibly lucky. (Seriously. I am!)

I got a new bike and helmet which is incredibly exciting as the boys have been longingly saying "I wish you could come riding with us Mummy" this past year as they went out and about with their Daddy. The boys handed me little cards with numbers 1 - 5, each containing a "clue". These clues eventually lead me outside to the bike. The boys were so excited they were jumping up and down with anticipation and were "helping" me find each of the cards [ie. "Look under THIS cushion Mummy - Hurry UP!! OK, Next one...The piano stool!"]. Now we're just waiting for it to stop raining so I can go and give it a try!

My hubby gave me some perfume I've been asking for and a Natio gift bag filled with heaps of goodies. I smell so nice and my skins feels so soft!

My absolute favourite gift was a family gift from my SIL, who gave us a clear plastic tub filled with dice, packs of cards, counters, blindfold, papers, pencils, matches, pegs, little blocks and the book "Parlour Games for Modern Families". We then spent an incredibly fun afternoon yesterday playing Old Maid, Pig, Cheat and many more games.

I have never seen my FIL laugh so hard than when, during a game of Old Maid, he managed to off-load the Queen of Spades onto my unsuspecting husband, who then tried to off-load the card onto his mother. (Background - No-one wanted to be lumped with the Queen of Spades at the end of the game!) It really was hillarious - I'm still giggling thinking about it now. <tee-hee!>

The boys also got a WII for Christmas and we've been having a lovely time bowling, playing beach golf and just having general fun and hilarity. When they've gone to bed, my hubby and I have been challenging each other to various WII games. Mind you, this has been much to their disgust as the kids can hear the soft "pock, pock, whack" and beeping sounds eminating from the TV after they have been told to go to bed. (Giggle - oh, we are *so* mean sometimes!)

My darling SO has been spoiling me rotten with one fabulous thing after another. Some of them I had asked for, some were surprises, all were lovely!

-- a Kindle
-- an amazing coffee grinder to replace the ancient, tiny one I use daily
-- a beautiful cream scarf with Swarovski crystals (Talbots)
-- long black leather gloves (Talbots)
-- Angie's glass pearl necklace, in white
-- a Halogen handbag in a gorgeous mulberry shade
-- this handbag, in "rosette"
-- those cozy, cream flannel pajamas that Jonesy found for me at Viva Terra (after all I could find were garish colors and doofy prints)

And DS gave me Clinton Kelly's "Oh No She Didn't", which has been making me laugh nonstop.

I have to say that my dear 7 yr old daughter has been stealing my heart this birthday and holiday seasons. She doesn't get an allowance, yet she has been using her rainy day money to buy the family's birthday and Christmas presents. In September she spent $5 on each of her two brothers and $10 each for hubby and I. She did it again for Christmas and then also added handwritten Christmas notes for each of us with 4 quarters in each envelope. She also gave her grandpa an envelope with quarters.

What a great list. AJ, your story melted my heart! I can't wait to see you all in your loot. I got an office chair so I don't steal DH's anymore And one of my favorite snacks that DH stayed up till 5am to make for me from scratch. My kids gave me smelly stuff which is nice. And we have wonderful games, gidgets from friends. I gave DH certificates for go kart racing, one for a wind tunnel experience where it feels like you're skydiving without having to jump out of an airplane, and an XBox Kinect which we're all looking forward to hooking up and playing. Santa gave the kids a puppy but said he couldn't deliver yet as the puppy is still in its mommy's belly.

@Katiepea, I love that your family had so much fun playing old fashioned card games. That's one of my favorite parts of seeing the extended family. We play card games and read all day long.

@AJ- your presents were too sweet. What a lovely little lady you are raising.

My DH was a darling and bought me a new set of serving ware. Our table was needing a makeover desperately. I can finally serve people out of matching dishes and I don't have to put hot pots and pans on the table!! It was really very sweet of him and completely unexpected. I'm going to check out those cute tea sets a number of you received. They look adorable.

The best part of Christmas was Skyping with the families that are scattered all over the country. We give our nieces and nephews cash each year. I know- it sounds lazy but they sooo look forward to it. You give a 7 year old $10 and it's like you gave them endless possibilities. They all went on and on about what the were going to do with their new found wealth

My DH gave me a gift card to my favorite boutique and some of my favorite candy. I was amazed and thrilled, because he isn't one to encourage my clothes shopping. I gave him a pair of shoes that he wanted.

My brother gifted me with a set of bike tools as I had been complaining about always having to borrow tools from my biking buddies or work to carry out repairs on my own bikes. It was very thoughtful of him.

My parents gave me money which I promptly spent on shoes and cookbooks.
