I just figured out why I
m interested in the behind the scenes of retailers---my Grandpa and Dad ran businesses--car dealerships. My Mom's dad traveled around selling suits to lumberjacks up in the bush and small town business people in his own men
s clothing store. There must be a genetic memory LOL---I don
t know why I never thought of it like that before. But unfortunately it doesn
t mean I can make change at the til hahaha.
When I first came here I had to ask what the Canadian equivalent of Nordie's was and HBC was the answer.
I was just looking up Bonnie Brooks the newish CEO of the Hudson`s Bay company -- also the voice behind the radio commercials. I checked her out while checking on the Target thread I posted earlier. Interesting lady and has been round--I hope she can make something of the Bay. http://www2.macleans.ca/2009/0.....f-the-bay/
Personally I don't shop there much--I get too overwhelmed and I also feel like I am not the target client in clothing but did get a great deal on Henckle knives a couple years back.
Seems the money from the sale of Zellers is going into a refurb of the HBC stores--got to put more life back into the company that was founded in 1670!
