Yesterday I FINALLY threw out a house plant I've had for 10 years. This morning I still feel guilty, I guess because it was very much alive. It was a gift from someone I liked but never see anymore, one of those bamboo cuttings growing in a shallow dish with florist glass pebbles holding the roots. It still looked perfectly fine. It was green and growing and healthy. I was just tired of dusting it, periodically washing out the dish and glass pebbles, and having to water it so often, which I'd have to make myself remember to do because it could get very dry without looking wilted. Just writing this makes me feel bad about tossing the whole thing into the trash.

I find that I have trouble throwing out even dying, and ugly, straggly looking house plants.

Anybody else with this issue?
