Thanks, ladies! I am so touched that you all were worried. Thankfully, everything is fine. This storm seems to be over in the Aleutian Islands, all the way across the state (where you CAN see Russia!). Very few people live there and they are usually well-prepared. It is really rare for school to be cancelled here or for the airport to close because of weather - everyone just slogs it out.

All kinds of things happen here that don't effect residents because the state is so big - like earthquakes in the middle of the state where there is NOTHING. It's still scary but nothing like what it would be like in California or anywhere else!
