OT- Update on Sister's possible Lung Cancer

We got the results of the CAT scan today and she has not 1 (as previously thought) but 4 Nodules Her Dr wants to do a Ultrasound and possibly a needle biopsy when she has a follw-up CAT scan done in 3 months.... thank you all *so much* for your kindness and support...it means more than you can know-

So sorry for your sister and the rest of your family to have to go through this difficult time. Hope she finds a return to scare-free good health soon. Don't forget to take care of yourself too! It's all too easy for loved ones who are caregivers or just otherwise stressed about the patient to fall prey to illness and stress themselves.

Thank you.... We have only each other left in our family, ouside of a couple fairly distant relatives who dont know about this (her request) and she's only shared it with one friend -she only has a few

I am really sorry, BM. I am still hopeful these are benign. She will not have a diagnosis until three months from now, when the biopsy is done, correct? I have you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. It must be so very hard for you, and I know your own health hasn't been that great. My BIL was diagnosed with multiple lung cancer nodules and with treatments, they have shrunk them down to nothing. He is now on a maintenance treatment only and doing well. He never smoked a day in his life; they think it was from radon exposure in the family home growing up. I'm glad you and Biscuit can be there for your sis. The waiting and not knowing must be nerve wracking. You'll both be in my thoughts and prayers.

Well at least you have some more information now and a plan going forward. It's not the greatest news for sure, but there are excellent treatments available and if she's in reasonable health, there's every hope for a good outcome. Try to stay positive - it's such a tough time for both of you. (((Hugs)))from Canada!

Thank you all for your kind wishes/prayers/good thoughts. I had tears streaming down my face reading this...she doesnt want any more tests done till the end of the 6 month period (after my Bday in late October) and she cant have any chemo, radiation done, probably surgery, due to other major health issues The Dr says without treatment, it could be 6-12 months...Thank you all *SO* much- cant tell you how much I appreciate your prayers/good wishes...I wish she had such a major support board...Ive told her about YLF, but she wants to go it (nearly) alone
