Ouch!
I'm glad you were able to get an appointment relatively quickly, and here's hoping it's all fixed up tomorrow.
In the meantime (I know it's kind of late now), try not to keep paying too much attention to it. About a week or so ago, I had a bad toothache that needed dealing with, and I swear - it turned out that something like 80% of the pain was because my tongue kept going to the sore spot, thereby increasing jaw tension and so on. Thankfully, the toothache wasn't anything major (just a filling needed) but I could have sworn it was some dire issue, and it was mostly because my tongue kept going over to the sore tooth...and then, the side of my face started to hurt, and I began to think that this must mean some sort of infection...my jaw hurt, my neck hurt...
It was all because I kept "at" the sore tooth - if that makes sense.
Like I said, it's late now - but there's a chance that if there's some significant pain going on by now, it's probably most likely because it's natural to keep going over the sore part, sharp part or what have you, and this is what causes most of the pain - muscle tension/strain from worrying it.
If you're still up and can't sleep because of this, try some chamomile tea to help you relax a bit. Rub the sides of your ears a bit to release tension (where the jaw muscles are) and try to focus on something else until you can get the tooth fixed. So, some Tazo "Calm" tea, or other chamomile type tea, a good book and just try your darndest to ignore it. It's the tension more than anything.
By this time tomorrow, it'll all be fixed up.
Hang in there.
