I encourage you as well to see a doc tomorrow. Please ask for a blood analysis for anaemia and thyroid levels. Hope it all resolves soon. Hugs!

First of all, Julie, you *are* our friend.
If you're looking for a descenting voice, you sure won't find it here...get thee to a doctor, and get thyself there stat! I had some similar symptoms, particularly the heavy bleeding, and to be honest they began raising merry hell with my body. Doctors visits, ultrasounds and the like revealed a massive uteran fibroid that pretty much explained everything. The doctors visit got time-consuming, and the fibroid couldn't be removed without a couple of surgeries, but all of that is a drop in the bucket compared to the discomfort and distress I would have felt if I'd let things go. Isabel's right; neither you nor Ben + the girls deserve that.
*Hugs* I'm sure you're feeling overwhelmed and maybe even alarmed after reading all our accounts, but so often these things are eminently treatable. We're here for you!

Julie, I am so sorry that you are still under such a great deal of stress. I know some people are prone to discount stress as something that is artificial or that we should be able to control, but it can take a huge toll on us physically as well as mentally and emotionally. (I've been incredibly stressed for full on a year and also struggled with some intense depression, and I'm also a horrible stress eater/snacker, and essentially wreacked havoc on my body.)

Please do go see a doctor - the other girls have given you very sound and caring advice on that front. I'm especially ultra-cautious at the moment as one of my friends and coworkers recently was diagnosed with early stage ovarian cancer following a bout of suspicious bleeding, and it was truly a godsend that she went in to get it checked out early because they were able to catch it before it had spread, which is incredibly rare. I don't say that to scare you as I know it's unlikely that is what is going on; it's just that I would feel more peace of mind as someone who cares for you, and I'm sure your family certainly would as well, if you went in just to make sure that everything was okay, and possibly got some suggestions to help deal with or avoid the symptoms that you've been experiencing.

Big, big hugs to you.

I'm happy to hear you'll be calling your doc asap! I'm sorry the past year has been so brutally stressful for you.

I hope this helps: Weird things started happening to me in my mid-30s. I went off birth control pills because that was more or less the "rule" then and because I was having migraines. Everything was okay for a while but then I started having heavy periods (and still had the headaches.) It was hormonal--just the way my body dealt with the oncoming menopause. It sounds like you still don't have the right combination and dosage in your bc pills.

And the right thing to do is see a good gynecologist. This may be nothing more than a hormonal imbalance that can be adjusted, but you need to know for sure. That will be one less thing to cause stress in your life. Good luck.

FWIW, I waited to have fibroids addressed and regretted it because the solution was easy in comparison to the symptoms. Don't know if that is what you are experiencing, but it could be. I hope you can find an answer as well as relief.

Definitely see a doctor! I went through early menopause in my 30s and some of the symptoms were the same. It could be nothing at all but it's not something to mess around with, take care of yourself and go get checked out.

I honestly can not thank you all enough. I phoned the Dr's at 8:00 am this morning but was unable to get an appointment with a female GP. The receptionist believes that if I phone first thing on Wednesday I should be able to get a cancellation. I will not wait forever but I am prepared to wait a couple of days to see my preferred Dr.

Thank you so much for your support!

Thanks for the update. I was just about to start a thread and get on your case if you hadn't phoned! x

I'm glad you took action! Just imagine us all crowded into the waiting room with you, supporting you!

I hope you get that appointment for Wednesday (hugs).

Good luck for Wednesday, R&J! So glad you made the call!

Thank you so much for your continued support

Did you manage to get a cancellation? X
