Interesting (in a good way) outfits at the Oscars this year. I’m not so sure about hair and make-in though.

I don’t seem to recognise about half the names, honestly.
Elle Fanning looks like Cinderella but in white not blue, and I like Heidi Klum’s dress. Joe Alwyn looks very handsome.

Thank you Carla for the link! As one might expect, my favorite outfits are the simplest ones: Stone, Saldana, Abrams (who is she?) but also Hathaway, even if I would remove all that jewelry. As usual, I appreciate more the men's outfits.

Just taking a quick scroll through, I’m struck by how many of the dresses seem sculptural but not always in a good way. A lot of unusual shapes but sometimes they just seem overwrought. And so much beige, weirdly. Rose Byrne and Anne Hathaway looked lovely. Jessie Buckley’s dress grew on me — I’m not a fan of the pink/red combo but the style is lovely and suits her in a way I wouldn’t have expected. She is such a huge talent!

Also, so many glowering expressions. It was a relief to finally see a few smiles for the camera, or at least expressions that didn’t look like they were miserable to be there. Many stiff poses.

I thought collectively this was one of the best Oscar years for fashion! There was very little that I didn't like (as I watched in leggings and a sweatshirt lol), and an absolute ton that I did.

If I had to pick favourites, Rose Byrne was a standout, as were all the men wearing wide leg pants (*waves to Pedro*). Fab fab fab!

Conan's navy tux was also perfect for that Celtic hair and skin ... He does a great job wearing flattering colour and didn't disappoint.

Lots to like! I noticed a lot of feathers - I love feathers although I am sure I have never worn them myself but Nicole Kidman had to be my favorite. I agree that there were a lot of sculptural shapes, kind of weird and kind of fun. I love a man in a black suit but the other colors were a fun change up.

Jesse Buckley and Rose Byrne were my favourites. I did like the jewellery /lapel pins many men were wearing too.

Rose Byrne, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Hudson and Jessie Buckley were standouts on the red carpet. I was disappointed with the looks for Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman, and Teyana Taylor. The feathered dresses can take a seat for now.

Thanks for starting the thread, Carla! I enjoyed the awards show, and we hosted an Oscars party that we have every year with the same friends!

I'm with Helena, best Oscars style in a while.

There were brilliant messages, some good wins, and Conan O'brien did a brilliant job. He looked KILLER smashing in every look!

First female win for Best Cinematography!!!

Very happy that Jesse Buckley and Michael B. Jordan won!!!

Wanted Marty Supreme and Sinners to win more awards.

Visually, these were my favourite looks in no particular order.

Biggest style shoutout to Odessa A'zion, who was wearing an incredibly glam kimono over trousers, which looked phenomenal in motion with her bouncy curls!!! And she styled HERSELF!! Dress, hair and makeup

Ooh - Jessie Buckley, Rose Byrne, Michael B Jordan are my top 3. And Mikey Madison and Anne Hathaway for Hollywood glam. And Law Roach and Arden Cho (big green sleeves) for interesting fashion statements.

This year I particularly liked Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Nashormah Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Jessie Buckley, and honestly a couple of the awards stage ushers who had amazing gowns. Michael B. Jordan wore SUCH an elegant suit, and the chain was a wonderful, subtle detail. I loved the brooches on many of the men, but I thought Adrien Brody was going to put someone's eye out.

And Jack O'Connell, because he wore his fangs from Sinners.

I always seem to prefer the men's looks - maybe because I would rather wear them than the stressful looking gowns . So I will shout out Amy Madigan for resisting.
