Shana, I have the Superfeet black 3/4 length insoles and I'm kind of torn on them. I chose them because other orthotics tend to be too thick for any non-sneaker shoes, and too squishy for any actual support. The black ones are thin and hard because they are meant for dress shoes. I like the fact that they fit into my shallow flats, and they seem to do their job, but they are extremely hard and kind of rough. I got blisters on my heels the last time I wore them. I wish they had a moleskin cover or something, just to add softness without adding bulk. According to their FAQ, the reason they do not do that is because it would increase the price, but I would have gladly paid a bit more. That might just be me though. They seem to get good reviews from other people. I have tried adding another insole on top but it makes them my shoes too tight.
The different colors represent different uses, like running vs. dress shoes vs. high heels vs. skating, etc. Their website will give you an idea on what would work best. You may end up getting more than one kind for different shoes, or you could try the blue insoles, which are supposedly kind of an "all purpose" insole.
