La Belle, your dress looks beautiful. I'm glad it's no longer an orphan.
Thank you for the comments and suggestions for my orphan top. It worked out well in today's heat. I wore it semi tucked.
Elle and K, I think it would work out under a blazer in the fall but the colors in the top are muddy and look dead against most colors unless they are muddy too. But that's an idea. I'll search the closet for possibilities.
Firecracker, I tried scrunching the sleeves and liked it. I'll have to try pattern mixing. I think I have a pencil skirt woven with a mix of navy and brown that may work, although it's more texture than pattern.

La Belle, your top is gorgeous on you! It's so great that you can wear it comfortably now.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Elle, you're right--at least with a scarf, I can wear the sweater. And I figured out a way to wear the scarf so that it's more comfortable with the sweater's neckline than the way I had it in my photo (a challenge bonus!).

Liz, thanks for the idea of a turtleneck. I had thought of that, but haven't tried it. I'm not a big fan of turtlenecks on me, although they would be a good style for keeping me warm.

K, I definitely run cold, to use Angie's term. I hadn't thought about that in the context of style until joining YLF. I've picked up some wonderful tips from Angie, such as wearing hidden, lightweight layers that don't interfere with a look. That tip has allowed me to back away from my former style of ALWAYS wearing a cardigan!

Joy, texture mixing is good, too!

La Belle that lovely top is no longer an orphan! Thanks to the challenge you will get to wear it.

This used to be one of my favorite blouses pre-YLF. I haven't worn it in a long long time, and now I know why. The worst shape ever for post-partum apples. Hello potbelly! Uggh. Off to the donate pile! (I'm only posting in the interests of honesty for the challenge).

Goldenpig, that's too bad about your top, it's such a pretty color. I know what you mean about pre-YLF clothes, though - that's what most (actually all) of my orphans were! I feel like I've learned so much since joining this forum
