Orphan--navy blazer w/white piping

I bought this navy blazer at January sales 1 1/2 years ago at BR. It's 75% wool knit and I like the way it fitted me. I wore it a few times in the spring, (but lost any photos when laptop crashed) and then didn't wear it again. I get it out, try it with an outfit, then hang it back up. It's too warm to wear from April-November, it seems spring-like, not winter or autumn, and the wool itches my neck if I don't have a high neck or scarf with it. I don't do well with a collared shirt and collared jacket--effect is turtle-like.

The manikin in the BR store showed it with a pastel plaid shirt, with a light colored V-neck over it. This isn't a look I'd ever wear.

Maybe it just isn't me--or reminds me too much of pre-hippie college era? Ideas anyone? Or should I just donate it? I have plenty of jackets and don't need this one.

What about a plain white tee? I love a jacket + plain white tee.

You could always try warming it up with something in cognac like a belt or a bag, or pair it with forest green or dark red tops. I like it the way you wear it in the last picture. Add a silk scarf if you like to prevent the itching.

I have very similar jacket and even it is cotton and not heavy and scratchy I also don't know how to style it and I wore it only once this summer. Maybe also not really my style? Will follow this thread for inspiration.

Could you pop it over a column of color of your choosing? Say, deep red? Or any color really. Navy is a lovely neutral.

Thimblelina--I don't own a white tee and haven't for years. I could try a simple cream top though--wonder if that would look funny with white piping.

Ingunn--you've planted an idea in my head. I'll have to look in my sweater drawer. I'm thinking maybe even a cognac or mid-brown tee. And forest green too. I've mainly been thinking cool colors.

Anchie--the white really throws me off. It just seems too much like spring, but I am getting some inspiration. If it were cotton I think I would have worn it more.

Thistle--I have a lot of gray, so could do a column of gray, but don't really warm to that. I hadn't thought about other colors--I seem to have a lot of gray, black and navy right now. I keep thinking along stereotyped lines. It is still a couple of months too early to get out my cool-weather sweaters, although this summer we have had a lot of morning fog. I will have to get the energy to do some try-ons.

Such a great jacket-worth giving it another red-hot go before you ditch it, I think.
I like the white tee idea, too! Maybe a dressy tee?
I can see this with a flippy A-line skirt and pumps for smart casual.

What a cute jacket! I love it with the red and blue stripes and jeans.
I'd try it right now over white jeans and a white shirt. You could do a turtleneck, blouse or tee, depending on your climate and what makes you happy. I'd play up the classic vibe with gold accents.

Navy/white stripes and a denim pencil skirt would work too.

I see a lot of these white "tipped" jackets here on the forum, so it is not at all dated and not just a spring look. I agree that it does feel a bit spring-summery, that's wehn I tend to wear mine the most, but on the other hand I am just now getting used to wearing much navy at all when it isn't spring or summer.

I do love the look with your stripes.

What if you changed out the buttons for darkish metal ones?
