There's a sweater I want to buy from either matchesfashion.com or ssense.com - it's out of stock in US stores but on sale at both of those. Matches has free shipping and returns to the US currently, so that's more appealing. But, what's the deal with duties? Their customer service FAQ is unclear. It says
"Please note that to assist Customers orders shipped to both the US, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Qatar and Kuwait are now shipped on a Delivery Duty Paid ( DDP ) basis. This means that all relevant import taxes and duties will be included in the product price displayed on the website."
but the FAQ also says
"Duty is clearly itemised in your shopping bag and through the checkout process."
and
"Customs and handling charges will not be refunded if the goods are returned."
I THINK those just apply to their older setup where duty was separate from the listed price, but it's unclear.
So, if a sweater is $147 on sale, does that include duties? It's not itemized separately in my cart. If I return it, do I get $147 back? Any direct experience ordering from them? Are returns as easy as it sounds? It looks like they did a big expansion to the US this fall, so maybe I should just trust it to be easy.
