ordered boots... what do you think of them?

I've needed to replace my knee high boots for 3 years now and with my hard to fit size, I decided to try mid-calf boots this time. If they meet with the approval of YLF and my picky feet, I plan to wear them with jeans and ponte knit pants, unless you wise people think they would be ok with dresses/skirts as well.

So... what do you think? I need a relatively flat boot for MOTG life in wet weather.

I love 'em! I wore mid calf boots almost exclusively last year. They seemed to go with everything. I think these will be even more versatile than mine since they are fitted at the top. I'm betting these will work with dresses and skirts too. Can't wait to see them in action

I love them too! I agree with Kelly, I can see them with everything and I'd definitely try them also with skirts and dresses.

I'm with you on fit of tall boots, although in my case, it's getting enough room in the calf! I have a pair of midheight taupes that I love and found very versatile. these will add a bit of "toughness" to your looks. I think that could be interesting. Pair them with heavier tights, perhaps fleece lined for extra warmth, and you'll have the same leg line as taller boots.

Boots like this are my go-to shoe for autumn and spring. I wear mine with skirts all the time. The sweet spot (where they hit your calf) is more important with skirts though so you might have to try a couple of different heights. Even an inch can make a huge difference.

Beth Ann, thick calves are my problem too. Though to add to it, my calves are also short. I'm not that tall at 5'1" and am around 115 lbs but have 15 inch calves. My best fitting boots have a 12 inch shaft--not easy to find! Most "knee high" boots hit me at mid-knee.

Thanks for the tips, Diana. I think I'll post some pics after they come to see if they hit my sweet spot or not.

I like those a lot, and they're quite a bit different than your other black boots aren't they?

They are very different than my tall black boots, but my tall boots aren't "me" at all. I was 30 lbs heavier at the time and they were the only ones I could find that I could zip up. They actually have leather bows on the sides [gasp]. The bows don't stick out and aren't overly girly but they are still too girly for me. LOL I would prefer something a bit rougher around the edges.

I love that these have attitude and a tough edge and also manage to be polished. I would like the look and versatility. They would be welcome in my closet.
