I think it's very smart to read GOT before watching it! There are so many characters and plot lines that I think it may be harder to follow if you don't already know something of the story. The downside is that I knew what was about to happen in many cases, but I don't mind that. In fact, there are some departures from the books in the TV series.
I just have to psych myself up to start the series. Trying to clear my queue before I dive into it. Trying to catch up on some tv too Not enough undisturbed hours in the day, I tell ya!
