Sorry for the previous photo fiasco. The sales associate I had was delightful, but admitted herself that pictures weren't her strong suit.
For now I've just settled for one pig of camel skinnies and a silky patterned blouse. This shirt feels a bit too short for the pants, but I just wanted you guys to evaluate both items in one shot. Feel free to consider them as separate entities rather than components of one outfit.. I absolutely love the feel of both pieces, but defer to you as always for aesthetic matters.
If the pants get the green light, how do these shoes look with them?

I really like the top and think the pants will look fine with a longer top and the shoes that you are wearing. The camel of the skinnies looks dark enough not to appear nude, which can sometimes happen.

i like both as well. the top might be too short for the skinnies, would want to see a photo from behind to be sure.

I really like the blouse. The skinnies look a bit snug, but I'm pretty conservative on that front.

This is most reassuring, Joy. The pants are outrageously comfortable, and I'm picturing wearing them with long red or blue or white tunics, my cozy long belted black sweater, or a tunic -length black lace top for date nights etc.

I'm with the consensus. The top is wonderful, but these pants will look better with tunic-length tops.

Those are great styling ideas Michelle - love the sound of black sweater and tunic - and red would also be a knock-out colour for you.

Michelle, the pants look more like leggings to my eye, very snug. I personally don't like lighter and tighter pants because I feel too self-conscious in them unless they are worn with a mi-thigh tunic. Can you try to size up in them?
The pattern of the blouse is lovely.

I'm not a fan of the skinnies I don't mind that they are snug I just think the colour is too close to flesh colour so looks like thick tights. If you like the fit why don't you try them in another colour - I could see you really rocking a caret coloured pair. I'm neutral about the top but imagine it would look good with apencil skirt.

Michelle - I think the skinnies look like leggings - and I'm not crazy about the color - they look too light to me. As far as the blouse goes - the fit and length is fine - but I'm not crazy about the colors on you. You look so great in cool or jewel tone colors - and this blouse is more of a gold (warm) color with a yellowish greenish undertone, which in my eye is not near as flattering on you as colors that have a blue undertone. This is just my opinion - and I'm not an expert at all, so hope that there ends up being an overwhelming consensus for you one way or the other!

It is a pretty blouse and I bet it feels fab.but I agree with Marley, it isn't your colors. Find a silk blouse in a red snake pattern..

I like both items a lot. The skinnies have lots of pairing potential in that colour. True, they are snug and silhouette revealing, but 1) you've got a great silhouette 2) they are very trendy. I can see you wear them with boots when the colder weather comes too. I would wear them with a slightly longer top for the current outline.
The silk blouse is gorgeous. It looks as luxurious as it feels, and it just suits you so well.

I have to agree with Marley, that these just don't seem like your colors. You do vibrant cool colors beautifully, and these are very muted warm colors.
Also, I'd suggest you size up in the pants. I really suspect these are tighter than you'd be comfortable sporting.

I'm glad that the skinnies are comfy. They do look a little snug and my suggestion is to size up too.

I also like the blouse! Have you done the sit down test? I fear it might gape when you sit down. Pretty though, and a perfect piece to pattern mix your checked skirt.

I like the introduction of the warm colour palette, actually. I think it will work well with your brown moto and all your reds. Nice update

Sit Down Test: Buttons that don't pop or gape when standing sometimes do when one is sitting down. Something I almost always forget to do, although I am pretty good about the Bend Over Test for lowish tops and the Squat Down Test for pants.

I think the pants are fine, but they are snug like leggings, so I think you'd need to wear them as such, with mid-thigh tunics or short dresses.

Michelle, I love the blouse and like that the colors are different than your norm, but still flattering.

I can't look at camel/taupe pants with an unbiased eye. They are just not my cup of tea because they are so close to flesh tone (on Caucasians anyway) and I've done a double take a few times when I saw someone wearing tight taupe skinnies that made it look like they were nude from the waist down. I hope that's okay to mention and doesn't make you feel like I'm saying you can't keep them... Its just my bias. My recommendation is to wear the pants with a long (bottom-covering or mid-thigh) top if you keep them in this color.
