After lamenting the lack of swingy sweater dresses, the Sundance catalog arrived and I found this:

Swingy, grey, v-neck, perfect petite length. Is it too much like everything I own or does it look like a good addition to my winter wardrobe?

Oh, I LOVE this. I would wear this in a heartbeat. You can make it work for work, and then on off times you can UWP it up with your Cortonas or Gidigios!

I think the only way to find out is to try it. I'd be concerned about too much fabric, but it's hard to tell from a single photo.

Una - I also think the idea of this dress is awesome but, at least in the picture, it looks like a lot of volume. Of course only one way to really know. I am sure you also ruled out the EF merino dress, that's pretty swingy but not sure if that was the style you were going for. I don't know if you checked out http://www.peruvianconnection.com They had a bunch of sweater dresses with more fitted chest and arms but swingy skirts that look tunic length. Wow, that dress just hit the top of my LOVE IT list. The thought of it with your Gidigios makes me swoon. But, then, I love soft, drapey, voluminous, tops and dresses on my IT frame, especially if I get to wear a boot with them.

It says 34 " which may work for you--would be really short for me. Might depend on the side view, too--does the hiked-up front with its pleated volume stick out like Shirley Temple, or drape nicely downward?

Do you wear a full slip under dresses like this? (Did I just date myself?)

About concerns it might be too much fabric: is the bag that full as well?
Personally, I'd hesitate to buy a trendy hem like high-low in a classic-investment fabric like cashmere. But that's just me.
