I am noticing that you can't walk into a shop at the moment without seeing an aviator jacket with a shearling collar. I think they look quite cute, and was toying with the idea of adding it to my winter wish list.

My concern is that this will be a trendy thing that will come and go in a season and leave me looking impossibly dated next year! Most of the jackets I see are in the $200-$300 range, so it's a lot of money if it's not going to last the distance.

I don't actually own a leather jacket and I think I would like to add one to my wardrobe, but I'm not sure if this would be the smartest way to do it.

Would appreciate your thoughts and opinions.
