Opinions on Danier

Mona

I quickly popped into Danier today and tried on these two jackets. I love the colours of both but not sure about the fit especially the sleeves. What do you guys think?

I sort of love them both, but yes a sleeve shortening (which they can do) is in order.

Between the two, I prefer the citron as the mint looks like it has some weird wrinkliness. I'm assuming that could be fixed with a quick tug at the jacket.

Between these and the white Blink jacket you first tried, I still like the Blink jacket the best.

I am in love with that mint green jacket too! I do think the citron one looks better on though, the fit is just great.

What do you guys think about the sleeves of citron? I really like the fit of this but not sure about the sleeves.

Oh, I like how they did the fastening on the mint one so it is symmetrical when open! That was my only reservation with it!

the citron I think is a better colour on you. It's gorgeous.

Citron! Mint can be on trend but citron is your forever color.
Because the sleeves have zippers on citron one you can unzip them a bit and roll up - this will shorten them and make them more modern.

Citron, and I am obsessed with mint. But the yellow just makes you come alive. Like the blink too. Decisions, decisions!

Yes, the blink is the best when it comes to fit issues but there are two things that bug me about it. First, it is out of my budget. Even on sale, it has been sitting on $349 for a couple of months and second, the neckline is not very flattering on me.
I don't like necklines too close to my neck as it does not flatter my small shoulders and big head. The neckline on citron one is my favourite. I find that collars frame my face nicely and help to balance out my narrown shoulders. Ahhhh.... why does PPP have to be so hard???

FWIW, I think the collar on the blink looks fantastic - makes your neck look long and makes you look really slim overall. But that is me, and you have to be comfortable. I am all too aware of the budget issue, or I might have sprung for the Blink myself.

I do like the Blink, but I like the citron also. The mint is pretty, and while I like the style, I think the citron is just smashing on you. I think both the color and style suit you better. The sleeves do look a tad long on the citron, but if the store will alter them, I'd go for it.

Is there any colour you can't wear?
While you look gorgeous in all these jackets - I prefer the fit and colour of the citron. However, I've just rechecked your photos in the blink - it's my fave of all for you. I find the blink jacket has a more elegant look, and colour may be more versatile.

AAAHHHHH...I just tried on that Blink light green one Mona. Isn't the leather just buttery soft? But I do prefer the citron one on you. The colour is just amazing with your skin tone.

Citron, hands down. And speaking of hands, the sleeves are a little long, but I like the sleeves of my jackets to be extra long.

The sleeves are long but not overly so. Might be a good thing in cooler weather. I love how your skin glows in the minty green one. Wish there were a Danier here. (I'd better be careful what I wish for I could empty my wallet in there.) I visited their site last month and drooled over several styles.

Arggh, you are making this difficult!! I adore this citron one on you. It is superb. The sleeve shortening costs $25 and is not a big deal. So that is no problem.

I still also really love the fawn Blink one and although it is pricey, it might be more cross-seasonal in terms of the colour.

That citron looks so amazing, though. I hope you will get it!

No - they can do it, Mona. It might cost more. I am debating whether I will take my white jacket back to have the sleeves shortened. You can ask them at Danier. They told me before they can do it on zippered styles. They might have to take it from the shoulder.

I LOVE the citron, not really a fan of the mint on you. I think the sleeve shortening is no problem to be done as Suz said by the experts. I have a leather jacket with zip sleeves and when I type on my laptop the zippers scratch across the computer below the keyboard (i unzip them about 2 inches and fold them back and it is fine but the look is less polished that way). I am not sure if you would be wearing this jacket to type or even if the zippers are in the same place where they would hit but you might consider pretending to type in the fitting room and see if this is for workwear too not just outerwear. It looks like a million bucks on you and I hope it works out!

I want to love the mint because I like the shape. But it just isn't doing it for you like the citron one. I think the mint sleeves would need to be shortened, because they aren't just too long, they kind of bunch up. The citron sleeves, however, are only a smidge short. And if the suggestion above to unzip and turn them up works, then you don't have to alter it.

Plus...I think the citron color looks better on you. Not the the mint is bad, but it's just OK. And I normally love mint. But that yellow pops.

The mint jacket is the friend you hang out with because they happen to work with you, or they live next door. The citron jacket is the really fun friend that you make time for on you calendar.

The citron is gorgeous. I do not think the sleeves are too long - this is the length I like my jacket sleeves, particularly outerwear. I know I am in the minority here though. (I do think the sleeves on the mint are too long because it looks like they are bunching through the arm).

I also really love the closure on the mint one, and how it's symmetrical when open, but the color is not as good for you.

The citron is wonderful in fit and the color does look amazing on you. I do wonder though, with such an investment piece, would the Blink tan color be more long term?
