Opinions of these different black sneakers: ETA one more

I said never, and now I am a convert. I love the look and feel of slip on sneakers.

I'd really like a pair of black slip-ons, and I am open to something interesting as long as the color/pattern is neutral -- no brights. I'd really like leather. I love how Anna wears her slipons with little black socks, which I would like to try (I've been wearing mine sockless, but I think the socks will give these shoes longevity into the fall.) I could see them with jeans, ankle pants, and the rare skirts / dresses that I put on. I really believe I could get a ton of wear out of the right pair.

Opinions of these?

1. Sam Edelman Cruz Reptile print: upside is cost ($30) but they are synthetic
2. SE Cruz black: again cost ($30 on sale) -- upper says leather panel (?) over canvas, not sure I love the white gusset
3. Tory Burch: upside is style (leather dotted upper) but $165
4. Aerin Marsden: upside is style (leather laser cut and lace-like, interesting) but $188
5. Vince Blair 3: upside is style (suede) but $225 (but lower on NAS, according to Anna)

ETA: With all the NAS talk, I'm hesitant to spend on the Marsdens -- want to have some funds available. And the all-black SE Cruz are no longer available. Any thoughts / experience with VANS Torinos? See the Find below. They are leather and $70, currently the front-runner. But basic black.

Love the Aerin! They are not included in NAS as of right now. I'm not sure if they add more things later on?

Leather could be worth the extra $$$ to take you into fall. I like them all and the fact that none are totally black.

love the Tory's & the Aerin Marsdens. i have mixed feelings about the vince's. i saw the black cherry on line this morning, and i'm intrigued with the color, but not so sure about the huge white sole.

I love #4, but I think this is a crazy price for slip on sneakers, even if they are leather... But if you think you would get more use out of them then say #1 or #2 then get them.

I just bought some black leather Vince slipons (think they're exactly the same as the suede..just leather) at Saks Off 5th. With the 50% they ran around $125. They are amazingly comfortable. Saks also had them in a pale grey. Had a lot of both in stock.

JayS -- how was the sizing? And how do you feel about the sole -- does it feel/look really thick?

They are all great, so take your pick in confidence! I have a soft spot for the Vince ones, though.

Just checked the box...they are the Vince Blair. I would call the sizing TTS. I usually wear a 7.5. If it runs small at all I take an 8. The 7.5 fits perfectly. I don't mind the thick sole at all..I think it adds a little edge. And did I mention that they are comfortable?

GAH love those on JayS! I love the thicker sole look myself. I am staying away; my dollars need to go elsewhere....but sounds like a good price - better at least! Good luck

I don't know about these specific Vans, but I had different ones as a teen and always liked them. I think they look great, I like them better than the SE Cruz plus they're leather.

I like the Vans a whole lot. You know, to be honest, what I'd do is buy several pairs of the first two. I love slip-ons and wear them a lot, esp. to walk the dog around the neighborhood. So I really go through them. I wouldn't want to be spending $225 every month or so on sneakers...

so, i've been thinking about this......would you spend $200 on a pair of booties? would you wear these as often a pair of booties? yup, its a lot. but i found that if i stopped thinking of them as sneakers, and thought of them as shoes, my expecations changed.
