Opinion on Golden Goose sneakers

I think I first saw them on Man Repeller. Barneys sells them:

They are very RATE. Check out the pre-dirtied soles. Are they just overpriced "used" skater shoes. I'm really torn.

Dunno about this. I can see the attraction, but prefer the givenchy printed slip ons also at barneys.

I ran across these during my search for high-top non-wedge sneakers, and the price was just too much for me to justify on sneakers. And they are a bit too RATE and trendy for me. Ended up with the Fryes, which are still not cheap, but leather and well-made, and a bit less trendy to my eye.

Some of these look a little skater/young to me, but I kinda like those black grommet ones. But dang, $$$.

Overpriced for sure, but I love them. I found a pair of high tops at Nordstrom that look like the Francy, but for only $129 ... I think they were by Nana and had studs all over them. Distressed, too, and with a star and tan laces.

I think they are overpriced. My son's DC sneakers don't look a whole lot different, and they are dirty too!

Anna, I appreciate the attraction however I could not justify the cost. I think if you love this look it could be obtained at a lower price point.

They do look like preloved Etnies or DC's to my eye.

The difference between say distressed jeans and these is that although it may look as though you could distress your jeans at home quite easily the reality is much harder but with these trainers there is no hard slog just dirt.

they are overpriced skater shoes... but if cost is not a consideration, they are cool and may be worth it for you for comfortable shoes

I think they are skater shoes done by a designer and have the designer price tag. In this case, I am not sure you get the extra quality and style for buying designer.

I am not an expert is this area, but from other posters, it sounds like you could get the same look and comfort for a fraction of the price.

Way over priced! I'm sure you can find something similar for 1/10 the cost, and use the price differential for something else. Not to get all philosophical, and certainly not being judgemental, I have real trouble spending that kind of money on something so trendy when the money could be going to something like food, housing, etc.

Um... overpriced "used" skater shoes... yes? I admit they're more stylish than Vans, but not $500 more stylish. I'll bet Shieks (sp?) the ghetto mall store (this is not an insult btw, I like to think I'm ghetto preppy) or similar has already done it too.

To my eye, overpriced used look. A wee bit contrived. Some skater shoes kicked around in the dirt would be cheaper and more authentic. Just my opinion.
