Zappos had one pair in my size of the stunning black silk Alexander McQueen cropped pants featured in Angie's post this morning -- after I thought I was safe when ShopBop did not.

A splurge to be sure, but so gorgeous. [And, she reassured herself, they will most likely drag on the floor and get sent back, since they are utterly un-hemmable.]

P.S. These arrived today (dang, Zappos is QUICK) and as I feared, they are too long. On me, the "cropped" length is a about one inch above the top of my foot -- not short enough to be cropped, just short enough to raise shrieks of horror in terms of Perfect Pants Length if I tried to pass them off as regular pants.

Ah, well. They are lovely, but back they go.

Also, if anyone else is tempted by these, I will caution that the on-seam pockets add bulk that is not so flattering in the hip area, even if your hips are narrow. The silk is fairly weightless, so there is no heft to pull the fabric down and create a non-bunchy fit to counter the bulk of the pockets, if that makes sense.
