Two things I need to stay away from: scissors and shopping! Some of you might remember that I gave myself bangs a few months ago and have continued to love them (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ed-haircut). I've had a hard time with the rest of my hair, though. I get it cut professionally, love it for a week, then start to feel like a wookie. This went on for a couple of months and I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with my hair. Yesterday was the last straw and I grabbed the scissors... and for the first time ever, I slightly regret a haircut! I want something funky and light. My hair is SO top heavy that it's easy to look shaggy instead of chic. I think it looks better in person, but the first pic is a closeup of the new 'do.
A few days ago in a downpour, I realized I really need a new trench coat that I can actually close. I've just gained too much weight to zip up my current one, which I got a size smaller than usual because it was on sale a few years ago. My husband OK'd the purchase of a trench, so for once in my life, I wasn't looking at prices -- only fit! Pic 2 and 3 is what I found today at Nordstrom. LOVE IT. I fit into the L but it was a bit tighter with a blazer underneath, so I went with the XL. It's roomy but I don't think it looks huge.
And, because Nordstrom Rack is right across the street from Nordstrom, I "had" to go check it out. After rearranging my closet and removing 1/3 of the items, I realized I really needed black pants and a casual blazer. I found one of the Gibson blazers, which I've always wanted. Black ponte pants that scrunch pleasantly at the ankle. And a bonus, this not-in-your-face animal print blouse. I also found a dark reddish-pinkish button-up but I forgot to take pics of that one. Tried the new outfit with shoes and boots. I like both looks! Those studded Frye boots are an absolute favorite of mine -- I wear them almost every day! SO COMFY.
