LaPed, exactly! There's a time warp factor for sure, especially for the heavily worn items. I just retired a pair of jeans (ripped beyond repair on a recent walk) thinking they were "new" but then I realized they're actually four years old. My gear and PJs also saw much higher wear than usual in the past two years and wore correspondingly faster, whereas jackets and dressier booties got next to no wear and now that I've hauled them out for work, I keep scratching my head and saying, wait, really, you are SEVEN years old? There are certain items I feel two contradictory things about: 1). I'm sick of looking at you, and 2). but I've hardly worn you!!
Sal, that is a great point about statements being easier to buy in person. I do tend to buy them on consignment (or did, in Vancouver). Having said that, I got the great Kate Hewko skirt on line and that counts as a statement for sure!
LOL, Jenni -- red's a neutral! In all seriousness, I don't have high hopes for that coat. I'm almost 100% sure it won't work out, but I wanted to try just in case.
Shevia, these would upgrade/ replace some very worn older LL Bean tops. Though I'm not sure they are actually similar enough. We shall see.
I definitely need to do a major closet overhaul, though. So much is feeling past its prime.
