I've been doing some online shopping to keep me from boredom. Made use of a few coupons at BR site and purchased a few items I'd had my eye on, but weren't in the store yesterday (I ended up saving $50 - not too bad!!).

Then I started cruising again for coats.... yesterday I did try on that grey wrap coat at BR. It fit perfectly, color was great, but .... I dunno... I guess I'm just not a wrap coat person. The belt just bugs me and I fear it adds bulk where I don't want it. And, it wasn't that heavy so I don't think it'll keep me all that warm. However, it's still on my list. But I didn't buy it.

Now, I have to tell you about my anal-retentive organization system! I have a spreadsheet in which I track coupons and their expiration dates. I can sort by vendor or by expiration date. It indicates whether the coupon is good online or in store only, and includes the online codes so I can just cut and paste them in.

I also have a worksheet in this spreadsheet on which I track clothes "wish list" items - things I see that I may buy - if it comes on sale or I have a coupon or I want to try in store first, etc. Sorts by vendor or type (coat, jacket, blouse) and has a column for URL. I check off what I buy, or check off items if I buy something different but similar instead. On this list are also items I want, but haven't found anywhere yet, like "Earnest Sewn Esra skinnies, size 26." (been hunting for those all afternoon).

(I also have tabs for xmas list shopping, and a tab for "expected packages" with confirmation numbers, shipping and tracking info... I told you I am anal-retentive when it comes to organization).

Very systematic, I am - but this system has been great and has helped me really focus my shopping efforts - while also making strategic use of coupons.

So here you go, from my wishlist under the coat category... would not buy all of these - they are alternatives for consideration:

1) Black Leather Aqua Moto Jacket:

I tried this on at the store twice now. It fits perfectly - except the sleeves are waaayyyyy too long. However, the sleeves may be alterable. I am on the fence. Would like opinions. There is an insider sale through end of day (15% off), or I could cross fingers it comes on sale.

2) Down puffer - still debating over keeping the one I bought for $60, or getting this one instead, in a smaller size:

... I'm thinking I will hold on to the $60 one and watch for this one to come on sale.

3) Camel cashmere coat:

.... they are having a 25% off sale through tomorrow night. Tempted. A camel coat - everyone needs that, right? I have a camel coat, but it's not cashmere. I've been wanting to invest in a classic cashmere coat for awhile now. Cashmere coats are so light in weight. If it is an investment, it needs to be a classic, flatter me, and fit impeccably. Is this the one? Hmmm.

4) Total splurge cashmere coat - in either camel, or light grey (which isn't shown, unfortunately):

... again, there is a 25% off cashmere sale going on through tomorrow, so that brings the price down. Still a big splurge. If I was to splurge, I would keep the $60 puffer, forget the black moto jacket, and just buy this ONE coat. It does look nice. But, camel or light grey? That is the question.

5) Not a coat but, I tried this on in Bloomie's yesterday (right before the sales lady insisted I call my doctor and helped me to the car, hee hee). It's made out of this wonderfully soft sweater-like material, and the color is gorgeous. I think I was drawn to the color because of Antje's jacket she recently posted. It fit beautifully. However, I think I am adding this to the "only if it comes on sale" column though - and by that I mean, more than 15% off...

So - what do you think? What would you do?
