Ok, I’m breaking my no-shopping streak for a duplication.
After dressing for a number of nice-casual art events in the past week, I have come to realize that some of my workhorse black booties are either getting long in the tooth, or are not as comfortable as they need to be for four hours of being on my feet. Since I am stepping up my participation in these events this year (I am in two wonderful gallery shows at the moment, with another big exhibition to be installed next month), I need good footwear that makes me feel good.
Enter the Marc Fisher snake print Dalaran booties from NAS last year. I didn’t have super high expectations for these, comfort-wise, but they have exceeded my hopes. The refined cut works well with my bootcut jeans and trousers, they walk the casual/dressy line well, they are modern classic, and the heel height is ideal for me.
I find myself trying to build outfits around them, so I decided to hunt down the same booties in black. Lo and behold, the Rack online had one pair left, in an 8, so I went for it. I will probably retire one or two pairs of old black boots to make room, as soon as I make sure these meet the same standard as my first pair.
So, not super exciting, but if they work the way I think they will, they should be a workhorse.
