One pair of sneakers?

As usual, I'm late to the sneaker party and therefore find myself with limited style and colors. I've got a slightly wider foot that I don't think will fit the Frye sneakers that I love and so these happened to come across my Nordstrom page and I think I like them. As I've stated previously, I need closed toe shoe options for work and so my question is, if you had one pair of sneakers to buy, to hopefully wear with a a variety in your closet including skirts and you had a wider ankle and calf, what would you buy? I'm considering these since I love my original pair of Supergas, I would love a half size smaller but they aren't available in an 8 only an 8.5. I'm also considering the Ecco Soft 7.
Thoughts?

I love them both. BUT if we are considering one pair, I would be inclined to with the number 2 because it is less distinctive and can cross many different thresholds.

Think I agree with Sterling, but depends on your wardrobe. I've got a pair of bold floral sandals that have a white base. I wear a lot of prints and darker colors, and find them less versatile than I expected.

See if you can get the Ecco Soft 7s in a metallic. It will blend with everything all year round if needed.

My wardrobe is mostly very casual with business casual starting to come in as I head back to work, the pieces I'm looking to mix will be a denim skirt, the entire chino collection that Angie just posted (wishful thinking!!), a pair of linen pants that Angie also posted about, jeans and a pair of kick back cropped black pants. I really appreciate the feedback, although I love embroidery, I also felt they might be limiting. I've included some of the items I'm planning to wear so you get a better idea. Thanks for your feedback!

I would tend toward the plainer sneakers. But if your wardrobe is mostly solids, then the flowered ones would work.

I agree with the suggestion of metallic too, actually. If not, then the white may be more versatile. I just got some metallic Ecco's myself, and my mantra is always that metallic shoes go with EVERYTHING.

Metallics would be a great choice. They look fab with many more outfits than solid white sneakers do.

I am generally not a fan of white sneakers - the "health personnel look". The white floral ones, however, have great appeal to me, because they are more unique and feminine. I imagine a lot of possibilities, including wearing them with skirts and dresses, and especially with clothes echoing the colours of the florals.

I prefer my metallic to white for most things. Glad you're looking that direction. Very versatile.

I agree that metallic would be a versatile option. I got the soft 7s in both white and navy this year, and I've worn the navy ones far more. Given your clothes above, that might be worth considering as well.

I would go with the Eccos, partly because they are less distinctive and will go with more things, and partly because you mentioned the Supergas aren't available in the size you prefer. I think it would be less than great to have sneakers that aren't a good fit.
