I just got measurements back, and this trench would fit me. Normally wouldn't go for this color, but the white inserts are fun and brighten it up, and I'd probably wear it mostly open, anyway, so my tops would show. 98% cotton, 2% elastane. $65 after shipping.

Would this be good to wear over work clothes while it's still cool but not wintry? Or do you think it's something I don't really need, and that my jackets/blazers are enough?

If you don't already have a trench, then I vote yay. Sometimes you just don't want to have to wear a jacket or blazer, and this makes a nice topper. The only caveat is that you should be happy wearing it closed too, and not count on only wearing it open IMHO.

I love my trench for wearing to work - it makes me feel polished but not like I have too many layers on. I could probably justify a second one given how much use I get out of it.

My black coat is a similar style, and I do enjoy wearing it closed when the temps warrant it, so that is a good point.

It is very Trekkie-cool with those shoulder insets, but to be honest I'm not loving the color. Not sure it's SS beige but it seems a bit drab for you... I love this color that Keiko Lynn had on:

I don't know about this particular coat, rae. I also like the white inserts, but I'm having a hard time getting excited about this coat-- I think its the colour and just the general lack of funkiness-- I feel like this doesn't live up to your style.

However, I think if you don't have a more coat-type item, a trench is an awesome and classy item to add to your wardrobe. I think it would fit with your climate too.

Spring trenches are a funny animal because most of us are ready to shed our coats by then, and in the southwest, a blazer would be enough. I like the style and the inserts but it's reading SSB to me. I might bend on an orange one, though.

I think a trench could be useful and the white inserts make it a little funky. I agree that it might not be the best color, but I'm not sure about that. I like Claire's idea of an orange one!

Hmm. I think an orange one would be too loud for my workplace, but maybe a burnt orange or rust/copper? That could go into Fall, too...

You probably don't need it, but I actually really love this trench. With your long black hair (almost always worn down), and awesome skin, I think the colour could really work. It looks like you could even swap in a wide black (or red!!!) belt.

Do you wear this shade of grey much? How does it look with your complexion? Greys are tricky for me. I need to stick to the "warmer" greys so I don't end up looking washed out. Is that kind of thing an issue for you too? If not, it's a unique trench (unique being a good thing in my vocabulary).

I do like it, how sharp it is. It would make for outfits, considering your whole wardrobe, with a lot of strong contrast. I don't know that it's UWP...

I don't have much of this color, but I've been finding these softer neutrals useful for pairing with my bright tops - orange, red, citron. Kind of like with bright skinnies, I often feel the need to tone my brights down.

In my head, it'd be a Spring version of this kind of outfit in #1, maybe with the dalmation booties under the jeans. Could also see it over 2 or 3...

This coat aside (I'm not set on it, don't get me wrong), I'm not thinking orange/warm tan would work for me, since I don't wear that many neutrals near my face once it warms up.
