Is the closet all cleaned up, Tanya? There's your cardio for the day

I have a dress similar to that. Your post have given me numerous ideas thanks! Unlike you I am at spring but really need a transitional wardrobe too so its just the thing. Thanks!

Oh, Tanya, this was a lot to take in! They are all great, of course...you ROCK a sheath, my friend. My favorite is the one with the little tie and white button-down. (-:

Tanya, what an incredible array of different and beautiful looks with the same dress! I love your jackets and the polka-dotted blouse and scarf, and my goodness, do your boots (all pairs) ever work well with that dress. I'll have to come back to this post next time I'm feeling stumped for layering options.

This has got to be one of the best inspirational posts ever! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this and for all the ideas! You could do a book "Sheath Dresses for Dummies" :o)

WOW that is one versatile dress. My favorites were the last one and # 4 I think with the turquiose scarf, oh, and the one with the long cascading cardi! Actually they were all fabulous, it looks like you had fun, you really were on a roll! Way to go!

WOW totally inspirational they all look so different x

This is a great tutorial for how to layer a dress. Thanks for sharing this, Tanya- it had to be quite an exercise!

I'm so impressed and inspired!

I am SO saving this in my inspiration folder, Tanya!!!! Are you a natural or what!
Outfit 2 (that tie, admiring sigh!!!), 14 and 15 are my absolute favourites, but all the other ones are amazing too.

I want to come over and admire everything in your edited closet and perhaps after that we could fly to Belgium together and you could help me put together some fab dress outfits;-)

I am late to the party, but I just wanted to thank you for putting your time and energy into this project. You look positively beautiful in each and every outfit but it is also quite educational for us, bystanders! Thank you Tanya!

Stunning! I especially love all the fabulous footwear!

Thank you SO much for truly inspirational post. So generous of you to take pictures and share Tanya I am going to try and emulate each outfit each week in the coming weeks. You are 150% fabulous in each outfit but outfit 15 just blew my mind

Wow. First Bella, now Tanya! My mind has been blown and I've been cheered up. I'm leaving this tab open to study later.

Your outfits reminded me how it's key to have a lower neckline for optimal layering. I'm very partial to look no.2. and I hope to make this work with a dress someday. No.3 and No.15 are also a favorite. I really like the color blocking in no.6. I should also study your shoe selections.

Thank you, Tanya! What a treat. I hope it was fun for you, too

Tanya, you are an overachiever in the positive sense. I love all of them. What an inspiration!

Tanya, this is absolutely wild.
I didn't see this thread when you first put it up,k and I only stumbled upon it because I was searching for something else in the forum.
I'm commenting because I have recently undertaken the hunt for the perfect sheath dress, and a true contender is currently on its way to me. I have spent the last two days devising outfits for it when it arrives (and hopefully fits), and I already came up with a challenge for myself -- four seasons, three levels of dressiness per season. If it works, I'll have to see if I can stretch my creativity by three more options!
You rule, well done!

Thanks Michelle for bringing this post back. I had forgotten about it and now it's bookmarked. These are great outfit inspirations for all the upcoming holiday gatherings.. Tanya you rock!

Michelle, thank you for bringing this thread back! I am completely blown away! Like Inge, #2 sent me into orbit. You are a huge inspiration!

Tanya, I wanted to layer a couple of sheath dresses of mine for a job tomorrow and I found this amazing post of yours. Brilliant and I love so many of them (2, 14 & 15 to name just a few).

Thanks for posting your challenge and I'm going to save your link!

Oh wow, talk about bringing an old thread back! I believe I posted this in September 2010

Michelle, I apologize for not seeing you bring it back a while ago, it must have been during my long absence from the forum. Vicky and Laura, I am very happy this is still helpful for people. Yay!

Holy cow this is sooo fantastic Tanya!!!
Thanks for bringing it back up Vicki!

Tanya, I don't care how old it is. This is fabulous any time and any year! I've just pulled out two sheaths (one blue and one burgundy) and plan to add some woven dress shirts under them. Are some of your other choices tighter, snug knits; it was a bit hard to see in some of the photos, but the variety has opened up so many options! Patty, so happy you got to enjoy this, too, like I did!

HOLY WOW! Tanya, do you work in the style/fashion/beauty industry? If not, you should. You would be a BRILLIANT stylist, fashion editor, merchandiser, buyer, designer, etc. You are super talented at this.

Thank you so much Vicki and Helen ! *blushing*

Helen, no, I do not work on the fashion industry, I am a scientist who works in a lab. That is an incredible complent, I am speechless.

I just found this website while searching for how to accessorize/layer with a sheath dress, but I can't see the pictures because I was not a member. I just joined, so hopefully I'll be active in 3 days and I can see them then. Thanks for posting this. I can't wait to see it!

Tanya, this is so amazing and inspirational! I don't have a sheath dress, but I might just have to get one. I had no idea that so many combinations were possible!

Franfair, it will be well worth the wait to see these pix.
