First some background: I have been pining after a beautiful red handbag but not buying it because I feel guilty about already having bought a lot of things for spring/summer in the last two months. Last Friday I received a coupon for 20% off of said bag, and my heart leapt. However I was afraid this would irritate DH since he was already very sweet and gave me an out for a jacket I bought a couple of weeks ago, calling it an "Easter present", aka not part of my monthly clothing budget. I can't stop thinking about the bag, so I checked the coupon again this morning. It was only good until this past Sunday
I told DH about this and how I was so disappointed. He listened to me sympathetically nodding his head and said I should have told him about it because I don't buy things frivolously, and basically he doesn't have a problem with it. He asked me where the bag was from. "Yes", he said, nodding. "They have very nice bags." I was shocked! I had NO IDEA he noticed things like this. "Really???" I asked. "Yes", he said, "They have those nice big paper bags that can hold a lot of stuff." And there you have it, folks. My husband evaluates my shopping by the potential of my shopping bags for sorting recycling. I love a practical man.
