one big thing taken care of, now time for one more

i want to again thank all who responded with kind words and advice regarding my somewhat traumatic weekend. not traumatic in a bad way, that's for certain, but definitely something that shook me up.

my first post had mentioned that i had wanted to update my only sexy outfit, mainly that i thought the boots were out dated. most of you seemed to like them, and they were a great match with my dark brown hair. i think i read somewhere in here it's called book-ending.

i'm including the pictures of the outfit in question and the boots, again for those who may not have responded before.

also, my hair is much lighter, now; with what she called caramel highlights. i thought a cognac boot might be a good replacement for my chocolate brown Chloes. what do you think about going with a modern and trendy ankle boot like these from Frye? http://www.zappos.com/product/8003551/color/1
If you click on the video link, you can see how they look with tights. they might also tone down the outfit just the right amount, too. your opinions are requested. perhaps it's time to kick the Chloes to the curb, and go with a more modern and trendy look

Great skirt outfit on you--really flattering and stylish casual. I didn't see your other post yet, but I don't think the two boots are mutually exclusive. I really like those tall boots! I'd keep the tall ones and add the short ones. Yes, the cognac ones will bookend your hair nicely! They are a great choice for you.

Me too, I also did not see the original post. I like both pairs of boots and would hesitate to get rid of the others. I think there is room for ankle and knee length boots in most wardrobes.

I like your knee length boots and I am a big fan of Frye's. The Frye's would bookend your new hair colour nicely. I agree with the others that both could find a home in your wardrobe.

I agree with the others -- keep what you have and add the Fryes. They are so different -- shorter, lighter -- they will just give you another great option.
PS I'm in awe of your dramatic hair change. You look beautiful. How did it feel to go from one extreme to another?

Firstly, WOW to your transformation. You look absolutely fabulous!! Secondly, I can partially see why you think the boots look a bit outdated, but they are still wearable. I have worn less current boots under bootcut jeans to extend their life. That could be an option for you too. The other boots are beautiful and the cognac colour is ideal for you.....book ending perfection.

Another vote here to keep the old boots and get the new ones too. IMHO they serve two different purposes. If you find that after a while you no longer reach for your old boots, you can get rid of them later, but I think a girl needs more than one pair of boots!

I like the tall boots a lot and would keep them to wear with skinnies. The Fryes will also be a great addition--perfect with your new hair color. LOVE the new sassy cut and color

Those Fryes look really nice. I agree with the others, it would be nice if you could keep both boots. Yes, this would be perfect bookending

Keep the old boots if you still like them, they look plenty current and the color will still work really well for you. The color being close to but not the same as your hair can add some richness to your outfits. The new ones are also a fun option, if you have room for both I think those are both great boots.

Deb, i like your idea of wearing the Chloes with boot cut jeans. i tried them, and they fit under quite well. thought maybe the big buckles might interfere with how the jeans hang.

kellygirl, i'm not that comfortable wearing skinny jeans tucked into the boots. i took some pictures that you can see below.

Janet, just like you mentioned, i find i'm not reaching for the Chloes anymore, just the new Fryes. any suggestion as to what now?
