we wore our levis or Calvins, wider leg or straight whatever the fashion gods dictated. they, once broken in, felt good, were cotton, and soft when worn a bit. Our shoes were almost always great, sometimes a little braking in was needed. we wore sensible heels,( 6 inch heels were unheard of ) athletic shoes for the gym and jogging, cross trainers (white), flip flops, or such were worn almost everywhere we were going to walk all day like to Disneyland. Skirts and dress length was dictated by the fashion gods too, but then came mini skirts. These were generally a no no in the work place, and certainly not worn to church.

We built our wardrobes around basics like A line skirts, or straight skirts (no such thing as pensil skirt (dumb word) , good white we called them shirts or blouses (no dump thing like button down. those were mens with button down collars), good pants or skirt suits, and blazers. If we had a special event we shopped in the special occasion department at the department store, and got great advise from the sales lady.

Clothes mostly fit, were made with ease, darts, and other well made sewing techniques. NO SPANDEX, to make things fir everyone where we had lumps or bumps they stretch around them. They always look great on the models as they aren't real US. They have no excess boobage, bulges around various places so nothing has to stretch a little to fit--But we wonder why they look so bad???Sizes were pretty much correct. Now even with size labels everything is pretty much small, medium and large. If you don't fit that mold things are made to stretch enough to go over those places, so we are OK with that..But I moss the good old days!
