I don't want to overwhelm the forum with too many queries, but I have some new post-Christmas-sale purchases that are slowly trickling in from Esprit and I'd love to have your eyes on them to determine whether they should stay or not. (Maya's LBD and Marianne's denim leggings are the other two purchases that haven't arrived yet.)

First on trial is this checked dress, which I envisioned wearing over either skinny jeans or leggings, sort of like a dressy tunic. It is much less waist-defining than anything else I own, and it skims nicely over my bust and hips without pulling. I love the beautiful fabric, but the shape/style is a bit different and more voluminous than what I'm used to. (The cap sleeves don't bother me, though.) I'm also paranoid that it looks good to my eyes only because I so badly *want* it to work.

I tried it with a few different outfits that came to mind so I could get a good sense of how it would function within my wardrobe. I really don't want to keep it if it's not a 9 or 10 on me, though, so I'd love to know whether or not it actually works.
