ON trench in emerald

This color is WAY nicer than it looks on the site - a bright emerald. I am thinking of ordering it in the medium petite to accommodate my shoulders but not drown in length. I have $40 of rewards so it would be CHEAP! Thoughts?

I love the color, not the fact that it is double breasted. Do you get free shipping where you're at? It would be worth a try. You know that color is amazing on you!!

I do get free shipping with my card. And I can return to the store here. So no shipping costs. Hmmm... may be worth a try. I hate letting rewards sit around. There's also this adorable birdie shirt that looks like a Tucker rip-off...

Una, I just tried on that birdie shirt while I was in OR. They didn't have my size, when I got back home I ordered it. I love the trench. Darn, they just had 30% off yesterday. They've been doing that alot, so you might be able to catch a sale.

I bought the blue one, but I don't have it yet. I tried on the small. I usually where a medium in ON. The small wasn't terrible but it was tight around the armhole. Kindof strange because it has a raglan sleeve. I actually ordered both the M and L, just in case the M fit strange around the arm (and also to help get the free shipping :-). It was really cute, I thought. I also liked the butterfly fabric in one of their other blouses, but I look awful in those creamy colors. What color are you thinking?

Definitely the blue! I have the same issue at ON with armholes, which is why I usually end up in a M. The reviews make me think sizing up isn't going to be a problem. Anxious to hear how it works out for you!

Love the color. It's gorgeous. Are you okay with the belt? I always struggle with what to do with the belt and have come to prefer coats without them.

I tried on a similar cotton raglan top several months ago. I took a medium because the armholes on the small were tight--yes, even though it was a raglan. Weird.

I saw this trench in person yesterday and the colour is fab! I didn't try it on though so can't speak to the sizing. It's definitely worth a try Una.

I love the color, but I am not feeling those 3/4 tab sleeves (perhaps I have a poison eye for those on an outerwear jacket, unless they are 3/4 sleeves on a retro jacket, meant to be worn with long gloves). Just my two cents, of course :).

I actually LOVE the tabbed sleeves and how could you not love a color called "astroturf"? I think an open, double-breasted trench (perhaps with one end of the belt dragging) to be charmingly RATE, if you like that kind of extra material flapping around asymetrically. I could see it on you, with some great boots as the snow begins to melt....eventually! Very bright UWP. Love it for you Una!

I might be too late to this thread, but I bought a similar trench from ON a couple years ago. It's a bright magenta and I love the color, BUT

1. It doesn't look well-made (not cheap per se, but just not wow!)

2. Mine doesn't have the tab sleeves, but the sleeve hems kept getting folded over in wierd ways, so I ended up having to stich them down to keep them from shifting.

3. The belt isn't stiff enough, so if you tie it it gets horribly folded and creased.

In hindsight, I probably should have bought a better-made trench even if it wasn't in a fun color. It was the color that sold me. I still use it, but rarely.

Having said all that, given that you have rewards and it would be v. cheap you might still want to go for it.

Una - here's the green trench from ON. This is a medium and is definitely TTS. You're smaller than I am so may want to try both a small and a medium, if that's convenient. The arm I'm holding out shows the sleeve when belted. The cotton is a good weight and the double breasted front did not feel tight at all. I would say the shoulders are average - neither too tight nor too wide. For the price, I would say it's a good trench.

Well, it looks fantastic on you and I was going to ask why you didn't get it, but thought maybe you secretly didn't love it or something and didn't want to say so. There's another color too, the tan, which actually looks nice - not SS beige.

I also saw this in store and was tempted to cheat on my beloved trenches with it. Then I came back to my senses about how many trench coats a girl can have and bought a trench vest instead. At least it doesn't have arms.
