At approximately 3:00 am this morning, Mr. ND and I were awakened by a raging fire at our neighbor's house. Also, a very large, 100 year old cedar tree was burning and embers were falling on our roof, deck, and cars. We were terrified, as our house has cedar siding and is perfect fuel for a fire to spread. Fortunately, our neighbors and their cat got out safely. Many thanks to the Seattle Fire Department for their quick response in extinguishing the fire. Outside of some charred siding, our house is unscathed. Lots of ash on both cars, so we are heading to the car wash this afternoon. Ironically, we just had our fence repiared last month and were going to paint it. Oh well. Mr. ND are just grateful we have each other. Material things can be repaired or replaced.
