Like Angie, I'm amazed you get by with so few boots!
When I lived in Ontario, I owned precisely one pair of sneakers (strictly for the gym) for many years. Eventually I bought a fashion pair or two but they -- like any transitional shoe -- got almost no wear when I lived in Kingston.
These days, in a more temperate climate, I wear sneakers and oxfords and one one pair of loafers for about 5 months per year. Other than that, it's boots and sandals all the way!
Current booties and boots below. The La Canadienne tall boots are over a decade old and rarely worn but still in great shape and a great fit, so I keep. Of the booties, at least two pairs will be retired this year and I hope replaced, possibly 3. I'm in the market for a dressier silver bootie. If I can't get a good repair job on the Paul Green plaid boots, I will be in the market for a red or burgundy (or plaid!) boot, too.
I wear the bright orange Cole Haan sandals more than any others but they are almost worn out after two years, so will be replaced next year. The Eileen Fishers are older but going strong since I didn't wear them for a few years. The flat cream Cole Haans are my indoor sandals -- not really for outside. The Eccos are very old and only for the most casual situations -- trips to my friend's cabin, etc. The Ecco fishermans are new and really nice except they gave me an ankle blister so I need to figure out how to prevent that next season. The dressy Naturalizers are rarely worn and the heel may be too high for me now -- I will investigate next year and if they feel precarious, I'll pass them on.
