I took Angie's suggestion and played Jenna Lyons for my first icon post. As CEO and Creative Director of JCrew, Ms Lyons is not a huuuuge stretch for me; she dresses almost exclusively in the store's stuff, as do I. But she and I are not twins, mostly because she lives in the limelight and really dresses for it -- who knew modern preppy could be so creative and dramatic!
I chose two pictures that, for me, illustrate both her signatures and her range. The "must haves" include slicked back hair, heels, layers, menswear, glasses, and a clean face. The range goes from elegant minimalism (with bold lips) to slightly loopy piled-on streetwear.
My versions are not carbon copies because I worked with what I had; hope you like them!
I also posted what I ended up wearing today: my white Brooks Brothers shirt (I had forgotten how gorgeous it feels against my skin), tucked into my pants (Thanks Jenna), with a sweater as my belt (ditto), and hair tucked behind one ear (as slick as I get).
This was really fun. Thanks to the genius who started us on this game!!
