I'd say on average I add 2-3 pieces per month. In all honestly I probably did a bit more than that this past year, but my wardrobe was still in post YLF processing. I feel really good about my wardrobe now and in case anyone gives a hoot, here is what I have:
18 Dresses... (6 summer day, 6 dressier summer, 6 fall/winter)
6 jeans... + 5 "demoted" to wear around the house
4 shorts
1 skirts.. (+1 I plan to make)
12 summer blouses/tops
5 summer toppers (vests, ss cardigan, etc)
12 winter blouses/layering tops
6 pull over sweaters
6 cardigans
8 jackets (with allowance to acquire 1-2 more if I find some I see having wardrobe potential)
16 shoes (8 summer, 8 winter)
So, what does that total,, about 94? My goal is to replenish my wardrobe on a 3 year cycle, which would mean that I would replace about 31 items a year.. , so I can reasonably say that purchasing on average 2.5 items per month or 30 items per year should keep me more than reasonably outfitted and current. And, now that i"m really trying to buy better quality, I may find I get more than 3 years out of many pieces, especially jeans and jacket. We'll see.
** I realize I didn't count special occasion dresses, scarves, cami's, tanks, coats, bags, or other accessories, so I guess I need to bring my planned purchase count to 3 solid pieces per month.
