I was at goodwill today looking for some pants I don't mind trashing at work. When I went to check out, I looked up for some unknown reason and saw what appeared to be a Celine bag way high on top of a display cabinet.

They let me hold it and inspect it, and it looked and felt real. I had somewhere to be, so I didn't have time to do any research. I made a judgment call and bought it.

Now that I'm home and have had time to do my research, I think it's real. After scrolling through literally hundreds of pics of Nano & luggage bags, I found pics of one that looks like this one: the Edge bag. It still has the tags and such, and the handle has never been unwrapped.

I did more digging, and started checking the things that different sites said to check for authentication. It has the unbranded zipper with a number in the right place, the heat stamp looks correct, and the serial # tag was located in the correct spot (and follows the correct format). Once I found that serial # tag, I got very light headed and almost fainted (good thing I was sitting on the couch LOL)

I don't know how a likely genuine Celine medium edge bag with tags still attached came to be in a dinky little goodwill shop, that looks like the 70s barfed in it, in a dinky little half decrepit town, in the middle of nowhere texas, where I don't think anybody would know what a Celine bag is, for $40 + tax.

There was no dust bag, and it appears to have been stored with nothing in it to help it hold shape (the sides don't look as stiff & straight as the stock photos of new ones). There are a couple of barely visible scuff marks on the outside. The inside is pristine. It's a really pretty and simple bag, in black, that I can actually see myself using for a long long time.

Someone pinch me, I think I might be dreaming.

(The last 2 pics are grabbed from the internet because they are better pics of the bag's shape than I could take with my phone.)

Edit: this morning, a friend suggested I sell the bag on craigslist. I almost had a heart attack.

I'm out shopping with a neighbor, and she took me to a new store (Dirt Cheap) and I found a pair of new without tags, never worn DVF espadrilles for $20. I'm buying a lottery ticket for sure
