Olympic uniforms...

Wish I could post a link to some of the sites reporting on the Olympic outfits. Cheers for my home country - Canada - for street style chic from Canadian designers Dsquared2. (Pic #1) and loving Poland's impressionistic maxi skirts and silver sandals! (pic #2).

What about you? Anything stand out?

I was overwhelmed by all the countries and outfits and didn't pay attention the whole time (on computer at the same time), but I was wondering what other people thought so I'm glad you posted.

The Canadian uniform is one of my favorites. I love the red. I love maple leaf. I also love the very modern silhouette.

Love the color, and the use of the maple leaf.
I'm undecided on the silhouette of the jacket, though -- kind of one thing going on in the front and another in the back.

Of course, I'm more accustomed to costuming for opera singers than athletes!

I like the Canadian uniform ! I like the happy red and the maple leaf.

The Italian uniform is a dark blue outfit made of sporty jacket and pants, designed by Giorgio Armani. Mh, not bad but not very impressive, I would say. But after all this is the style of Armani: always very sober.

I always get mad at NBC for putting filler at the beginning of the broadcast, delaying the ceremony so it runs so late. Naturally I fell asleep and missed a lot of it. I did see an article about the US uniforms. The author wants Ralph Lauren fired for putting the athletes in "indecisive" stripes.

I thought he should not have been rehired after putting the athletes in the ugly Christmas sweaters for the Winter Olympics in Sochi. That was unforgivable.

We have been GLUED to the Olympics - we love it. The equestrian events are sublime, and so are the swimming, gymnastics and diving events.

Here are my impressions of the team outfits:

The US looked GREAT, but I would have preferred to see the women in white skirts. Dressier.
My favourite outfits were Team Netherlands. Polished, hip and fun.
Also loved India and Hong Kong. Elegant.
And Canada looked fab too. Red is a great colour.
