Runcarla’s post about colour capsules interested me. I don’t think I have called my efforts a “capsule” before, but looking at these items I think it fits!
My original “gateway drug” to olive was a pair of pants in 2013 found by chance on sale, no alteration needed, perfect length with a gold ankle zip I loved. Sadly they eventually pilled but after many many wears ( don’t think I was counting then) about 3 years later. I think I wore with black until I thought to put my bright 2013 United Nude boots with olive on the edge ( pic 7) with them, and a bright sheer tunic I have that has pink and orange in like the boots. A good outfit. The 2015 thrifted patchwork waistcoat also appealed with its olive edging ( also pic 7, though I think worn with tan instead).
I really missed my olive pants after 2016 so 2018 saw the olive snakeskin pants (pic 6- paid full price after much agonising)- wore 78 times before replacing in 2019 with an exact duplicate on sale! The dupe is now at 64 wears.
Lots of other tops:
Pic 1 thrifted camo 2017 and asymmetrical bottomed T with side tie 2019.
Pic 2 knit summer lacy top 2016, silk and knit top 2018.
Pic 3 brand new gold/khaki stripe top for upcoming spring/summer, not worn yet. And olive/gold overlay tunic 2019.
Pic 4 olive cardigan 2019, olive camo tank 2018.
Pic 5 olive reversible puffer 2019.
Pic 6 olive snakeskin pants 2019 and new olive snakeskin boots 2020.
Pic 7 as before ( 2013, 2015)
Pic 8 olive beanie 2018.
Apart from the first pair of snakeskin pants, every other item was on sale with two of them thrifted. For a 14-item capsule I think I did OK!
4 are Sabatini and 3 are Verge, two of my fave NZ brands. I frequent the Sabatini outlet store sales about twice a year and always do well. The new top is from there a month or so back when we were not in lockdown ( back in a lockdown just now).
