I know I am a hard core saver of old clothes (read cheap) and believe me I do have newer things in my wardrobe.
I could not help myself and added a couple of special scarves even though I said I would not.

#1 is one of my favorite jackets- grey wool tweed that is about 10 years old. I have it paired with a hand painted scarf that was given to me in 1984 by a friend who brought it back from a vacation in Greece. The brooch was my mother's.
# 2 is a blouse that is approximately 12 years old and I can not bear to part with it because I just adore the colors- It is one of the only non-scarf print items in my wardrobe. Teal- Purple- Pink (my yellow- red-white- Angie -lol)
#3 Excuse the wrinkles because I dragged this out of summer storage.-It is a linen dress that is about 20 years old (from Filenes- when did they go out of business?) and is the only thing other than boots and scarves that I own in brown. It is beat up but I will never get rid of it because I live in it in summer- yes even thought I have to iron it. The scarf was a gift from my sister in law on my 18th birthday (46 years ago-yikes)
#4The picture does not do it justice. When my Mom married my Dad in 1950 this was her winter coat. It was hand tailored somewhere in Canada and is a magnificent alpaca and wool coat. It feels amazing on. Mom was going to pitch it over 40 years ago, so I took it. I have had to re- sew most of the seams and my next project is to replace the silk sleeve lining. I only wear it for special occasions (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas parties) because it is so fragile. It is vintage and sentimental. They don't make things like this anymore!
Guess it is too late to have included my wedding dress that I just gave up a couple of weeks ago.
