Hello again! I'm bugging you guys a lot lately, but it's time to get some feedback.
I'm taking a second look at the Hinge jacket I bought during NAS, in light of the faux fur jacket I posted yesterday. This is not a case where I can only keep one or the other, but I am looking more closely and thoughtfully at my purchases because I don't need more closet orphans!
The Hinge jacket is a little challenging because the waist hits so high, so it really requires high-waisted pants, which I don't love on me, or a skirt or dress to give a clean line below the jacket peplum. Hence the skirt in this picture.
Here's the deal on the skirt: I've had it for years, and I've always liked it even though midi length is not my favorite. I pair it with black heeled boots and a black top and/jacket to toughen it up a bit. The color in this photo is not good -- the plaid in the skirt is Kelly green and an almost teal blue with white. The skirt is a bit big on me now but fits in the waist. I could probably get it taken in a good 2" from the hips, if it's a keeper. It has a little kick pleat in the front that I think you can see in the photo (no slit). I confess some of my fondness for this skirt is that my late mom bought it for me on one of our shopping days, which are some of my nicest memories of her.
Sorry so wordy! Just wanted to give explanation for what I'm trying to do here.
1) Does this kind of styling for the jacket work? If not, alternate ideas?
2) Does this midi work? Is it dated or on trend? Is it worth altering and keeping, and is this kind of styling enough to elevate it to the effort style I aspire to?
Thanks for reading this tome, and for your help!!
PS Please pardon the wet hair & no makeup. Post-run, post-shower.
