OK, pleated pants - do they look ridiculous on me

I wanted to try some new pants styles for some time now. So far nothing really worked for me. I have ordered these pants in GAP:

Well, they do not look like this on me and I am not sure about them at all. They are a low contrast with my skin and a bit tapered. They are too short as is but they pass rolled up with heels. Waist should be taken in and pockets sewn shut if I keep them - but I don`t know if I should...
Please be honest!

These pants really emphasize how small you are on top, Sveta. That makes me wonder about them in terms of the proportions. They are not bad, not at all, but I just do not think they are fab enough for you. Pants are so tricky and I confuse myself sometimes with the evaluation process. Aren't you glad we can come here and ask for second opinions?

What would we do without this option, Kyle...Thanks for your opinion. I like the idea but maybe this style is not for curvy on the bottom gals... I bet they would look better on you!

I don't think they look ridiculous at all! You know, I think it's the color more than the fit that is giving me pause. I think the black ones, worn with a black or low-contrast top, with a jacket over the top would be fab! Just my two cents :).

Sorry these pants did not work. But don't give up. If you love the look you will find a pair that work for you. Maybe they need more slouchyness to exaggerate the look?

I looked for cargo pants for my pear shape for over a year. So many had bulging pockets, and they sit right where I don't need them to sit as a pear shape. I finally found a pair, on a clearance rack, at AT. What a hunt it was!

I see they are going back. If you already owned them, I bet you could make them work by playing up the funky slouch and rolled legs.

You might find that slouchy in black or dark works better for you. I feel the black/darkness makes it harder to pick out every fit detail

Sveta, it's not you, it's the pants!! Very few women would look great in these particular pants. Ditto what Sara said about looking for darker or black ones, and ones with a higher rise like Angie suggested.

Lisa, I feel now that finding any pair of pants or jeans which fits well is too much work. This particular item of clothing is my biggest pain.
Sara, I am afraid black or dark ones would be too high contrast for my legs in this style.
Jonesy, thanks for the moral support. Nothing (shopping wise) depresses me as much as pants and jeans shopping. Maybe I should stick with dresses and skirts for sanity sake...:-)

Sveta, not ridiculous at all, but I think the combination of cut, fabric, and color is not the most flattering on you. I can see how they *almost* work, so I don't think they miss the mark by a huge margin.

Kyle, they definitely don't look ridiculous on you, but you are way better looking than those pants are. So I would vote nay, and have you look for a pair that does your adorable figure justice. BTW, killer arms!
