I guess for me, if I was going to drop 27K on a dress, I'd fly to Paris and get something custom from Jean Paul Gaultier. Though I'd probably get quite a few looks at the next opera.

I kind of like the black, blue, and orange one. Although not for 27K. I'd have to beef up my crochet skills but I actually think I could make something similar if I was so inclined. It looks like applique so you could just attach individual motifs to a plain dress.

I do understand a 30k one of a kind dress hand sewn for you, but I find these ordinary. I don't think it's worth putting anyone to work on them.

Thank you for sharing this link, annagybe! These are exquisite pieces! The workmanship that created this is phenomenal! I would totally buy these pieces as works of art if It was within my budget.
Although, like Gigi, I do wonder about the designer/artisan inequity. I would prefer to buy from the source with a large mark up than through a middle person with a label.
In this case, perhaps exposure and association with a label is beneficial?

I am curious about the fabric/materials these dresses are made of. You cannot get a close-up, they may be hand-embroidered and for the price they must have jewelry threads in the fabric. I am obviously not into the price of it but I am definitely into the craftmanship part.
I like the yellow dress in the center of the picture.

Granted, the photos are small and you can't see detail, which I'm sure is wonderful, but these do absolutely nothing for me. I can definitely come up with lots of other ways to spend $27K!

I get paying that price for a handmade work of art, but the surface texture with the shape of the dress and the colors together just do nothing for me personally, even if close up the stitching is exquisite.

It's something that should knock your socks off from any distance, and for me it doesn't. Maybe I can't escape this association....:
