I'm on the fence. I actually love this as a combination of UWP flash and my Kate Spade. To me, this piece has a kind of retro/futuristic vibe - it's cut like a KS item and the material reminds me of 60s space age looks (Barbarella!). The fabric is not noisy or stiff, but it's also not stretchy. It's sort of a puckered lame type of fabric, but thicker. It's not as tin foil flashy as it looks, but it's certainly not sublte. There is a cheap poly lining in the body which I would cut out as it doesn't seem to serve any purpose, unless it is to provide more "slip".
I love how it looks like metal and the cropped length is fun. I can see wearing it for holidays and dressing it up for fun. I didn't get a chance to try it over a shirt as styled in the stock photo, but I'd like to try that. It doesn't go well under a blazer as it is structured and gets kind of squashed by a structured overlayer, although a knit layer would probably work.
As you all have pointed out, the questions are: when and where would I be able to wear this, and is it justfieid? I did get 20% off plus $30 in rewards, so I did not pay full price - but the real issue is whether it has a place in my closet. If not, I think something similar will go on my list, although I'm not quite sure what that would be.
