I'm not really a shoe gal but I do like me some steampunk and I like
emphatic shoes. I often think back to when i am supposing women
wore mostly lace up booties and I wonder why on earth they stopped
doing that. Makes total sense to me.

Oooh! The new fall shoes are slowly appearing on the website - and there are new and exciting colors that weren't even in the preview.

Negative reinforcement below. Don't read if you're trying convince yourself to go ahead and buy the shoes.

I love everything about the Vermeer shoes except ironically enough, the heel. I love the shape but I wish it was less pasticky looking. I'm afraid I'd bang it out of shape in no time and the soles are slippery.

However, if they roughed up the soles a bit and constructed the heels out of a different material.... it would be dangerous!

Sylvie, I know what you mean about worrying that the heel would get all scuffed up. I might be willing to take the chance, though.....we'll see. My honey has promised me shoe shopping for my birthday, so I'll definitely try these on.

The funny thing with shoes (or any clothes, actually) is that they can look drool-worthy on the shelf, but just plain silly on your feet. Or vice versa. So maybe I'll put them on and think, nope, not for me.
