I just received this pretty white pebbled leather saddle bag as a birthday gift, and I have ruined it already. I carried it over a years-old red smooth-knit jacket, which I never thought would bleed color as it has never done so before. Now I have pinkish discoloration over the top and top back of the purse, especially on the "laces." I am just gutted. (I know, first-world problem.)
I tried cool water with mild soap. No help. Then cornstarch to absorb the pink. Nope. Then light brushing with white toothpaste. Nah. Does anybody here have experience with getting color off white leather? Is there a special product? Or is my next step finding a professional leather cleaner?
