If you're in the South, you must be gearing up for this next storm, especially if your power goes out.
We (in Pennsylvania) lost power for about 10 hours in the last ice storm and it is not fun in the winter. Even if you have gas or oil heat, typically the spark that runs it is electrical. We're more used to power outages in warm-weather thunderstorms -- I didn't even know if my gas furnace would run or not. (No.)
I could use my stovetop if I lit a burner with a match but not my oven, which runs off a touchpad. We had firewood and luckily got our power back relatively soon. Some PA residents are still without, a week after that last storm.
Please everybody, get your supplies in, lay low, and stay safe, okay?
